Ignorance is Not Free

Some have called ignorance bliss. But if you actually look into it, there is an incredible cost and consequence to ignorance; and there is no free ride for anyone. There is also a huge range of things both physical, emotional, and metaphysical we can be ignorant of, each with their corresponding consequences.

On a Physical Level

On a physical level, living a life of being ignorant of where our food comes from, its nutritional value, what is in vaccines, buying endless goods as if they come out of thin air, of the existence of chemtrails etc., means that not only do we cause suffering to animals, the planet, fellow human beings, and future generations, but we are subjected to poisoning, carcinogens, and chemicals even in our food, water, and air that causes us sickness, suffering, and premature death.

Being ignorant of the hidden networks of shadow governments, of the worldwide banking system and how it works, of the real causes of many wars etc., means that we become its complicit supporters—perpetuating a system that enslaves us through debt where the individual is no longer the citizen of a country but the collateral of banks. People work their whole lives to pay off vast bank mortgages and debts of one kind or another in an endless trap of wealth harvesting for those who pull the strings in the economic system.

As mega corporations churn out a stream of mass produced throw away goods from the precious resources of the earth using what is effectively slave labor in exploited countries, people work for hours and hours a day just to have the passing pleasure of the next toy or gadget that soon breaks and becomes redundant, which they have become utterly convinced they must have, leaving vast piles of toxic rubbish in the wake. This cycle of raping and pillage is causing massive amounts of suffering whether we see it or not, and is feeding into a system of insanity that is destroying our planet.

On an Emotional Level

But ignorance is not just in relation to the things around us, it continues in relation to ourselves too, and it’s our inner life that creates the outer world we live in. On an emotional level, being ignorant of our own inner deficiencies, of our aggression, prejudices, bigotry, lethargy, apathy, arrogance, greed and perversions etc., means that those around us suffer their consequences. Our children, partners, friends, and family, for example, suffer the untoward negative vibrations from our angry thoughts and hurtful words.

These deficiencies are ultimately the root cause of much of the suffering in our lives and the world. Imagine for a moment that we were all magically free of greed—we would instead become a humanity that cares for the welfare of others rather than the next self-indulgent pleasure that comes at the expense of others.

But not only do others suffer the consequences of our selfishness; we too suffer from a lack of inner peace and love. When we are angry, where is inner peace? When we are constantly thinking about ourselves, where is the love? The lack of these higher feelings is one cost, but the path that greed and anger takes us on is yet another. From anger for example, we can lose relationships, our health, our opportunities, and live in a self-imposed inner poverty despite whatever material wealth may surround us (albeit for a passing time). If we are ignorant of them, these negative inner states then determine the course our life takes beyond our knowledge, affecting our decisions, our actions, and thus what we spend our life doing.

On a Spiritual Level

And then there is the ignorance of wider realities beyond our physical senses. For many it seems so inconsequential to laugh it off and say it doesn’t exist, but for the thousands of survivors of near-death experiences (NDEs), realities beyond the material plane are no joke. It’s so easy for people to rubbish religious texts, mystical experiences, and spiritual knowledge, and feel a sense of intellectual superiority since metaphysical things cannot easily be tested or demonstrated through physical means. It takes exploration of non-physical reality via metaphysical means to know about the non-physical, and that has always required an individual discipline of inner practice and exploration.

There are now thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of compelling accounts of people who have experienced leaving their bodies in a near-death experience, and witnessing the hidden or "esoteric" side of reality.

It’s easy to spend vast amounts of one’s life playing games and watching entertainments, but what a waste to spend so much free time like that whilst giving no time to the exploration and understanding of the process and purpose of life, whether non-physical dimensions of life exist, what we have come here to do, and whether what is written about in sacred texts is real or not. If we take our life as something that exists beyond physical reality and death, then the consequences of ignorance become far greater than we can even imagine.

Being ignorant of something is to be a victim of it; at the end of the day, we are the ones who suffer. Ultimately every effect in our life and the world has its cause, and to be ignorant of the cause is to continuously suffer through what can sometimes be devastating effects without being able to break free of them. One of the things knowledge does is to give the ability to make choices about our destiny based on a wider understanding of reality. So it’s important to be informed about our physical world, about ourselves, and also about non-physical realities to be able to create the potentially wonderful consequences that action based on the knowledge of wider realities brings.

  1. This really good article Angela, thanks a lot. this something that I really ponder sometimes. I understand that this world is a terrible place really. With all the poison in our food, the cam trails and the dark agenda of our governments throughout the world. This really makes me feel quiet hopeless at times. It can be really challenging to find a meaningful way to make a difference but for me personally I found the most important thing is to really just work on myself. To really try and increase the level of consciousness so that I can see more clearly as to what to do under current circumstances. Thanks again.

  2. Are you Christian?

  3. Hi, Just read your article on Inter-dimensional entities, would like to send you an article I wrote on some of my experiences with these beings, not by OBE but while fully awake.
    Carlos

  4. Great article. The book “Wake Rise and Shine in the Darkness” goes along well with your messages.

  5. Regarding on the physical level, for those interested in seeing a bit more of what may be going on these days, there’s a new documentary that just came out called “Shade,” which after a short opening section on the alleged powers that be behind the scenes, focuses mainly on the issue of geoengineering and weather modification and its impacts on our bodies as well as the planet…

Thank you Angela! It almost breaks my heart when I discuss things openly about after life, other races, and various things with people and they are so quick to dismiss it due to lack of evidance. The scientific half of my brain understands this rational, however the spiritual half of my brain and spirit that has exepreinced these things, feels very sad at the level of close mindedness (or sleeping states) that humanity is still in. Thank you deeply for this. It validates more and more what I know to be Divine truth. <3 Please everyone keep up the great work.

  7. Hi,

An interesting and different website. There’s not much like it out there on the web. I found your writings very unique and informing. Something I’ve found with many spiritual ways is that people ignore the physical problems of the world. It’s seems like people think that trying to be spiritual means letting go of attachment to the world which is what I found with my recent look into Buddhism and this didn’t feel right to me. Looking forward to reading more enlightening articles like this one. Ignorance and arrogance go hand in hand and its the arrogance of some spiritualists that I find damaging to the development of a spiritual world.
    Thanks.

Seems to me that you must have one foot in the real world and the other foot in the spiritual world to get the full meaning … just my thoughts. Welcome Ray.

  8. Great article, thanks Angela.

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organised habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society.” Edward Bernays

Some people choose not to see things that are clearly right in front of them – it is easier to continue in ignorance or denial; it is easier to blame others than to see our part, or the harm that we cause them; it is easier to stick to rigid beliefs handed down or presented by the masses than to extend ourselves to explore other possibilities.

  9. Thank you for this article. You revealed and exposed with a clear and direct way many important things about our responibility how the world is now.

  10. Ignorance is bliss….

To me that feels like, while knowing a bit better, still stubbornly going for the pleasurable side of the pendulum. Trying to run away from that akin voice of conscience within that says that our energies put into matter will go to waste, and things of time will come to an end eventually.

It seems to me that ignoring this definitely has grave consequences for us, and for others. Perhaps the same approach we have within, is also happening externally with the problems on Earth.

I do feel there is also a more genuine ignorance. We do need to have access to the right information to be able to make a knowledgeable choice.

Without this knowledge, even with good intentions, we might end up doing more wrong than good.
Because if we do not have that connection or understanding to what is good within, what then are we acting on and what are we discerning with?

And so it really seems to me an inner work and understanding goes hand-in-hand with doing things to help others.

Nice article on an important subject, thank you.

  11. I great article Angela.. I completely understand what your saying. I sometimes in the past have not wanted to know about the atrocities and injustices occurring on a large scale, and my own footprint upon the environment etc.. But have also seen that once you know and understand you are in a position to make a difference – even if that contribution is small.

Once free from the ignorance and disillusion (especially emotionally and spiritually) you are in a position to really help others and understand in with compassion.

Thank you for this article, so valuable.

    War against ignorance!

    • Thanks for an eye opening article Angela. A breath of fresh air (no pun intended), to read the reality of our world and inner state of being.

It seems to me that this is all part of the master plan, to make us see what we must work towards overcoming.

      All the strength to all.

  12. To me this blog post inspires an important reflection as it honestly and quite accurately discusses so many serious and fundamental issues we face as a society and as individuals, that make up society.

Thanks Angela for this important post.

  13. Thank you for this blog Angela. It looks like almost like training to be aware. Both external awareness of the five senses and self-observation are important for awareness to work properly – and so people need an education of global issues, affecting us all, such as GM food, interest rates, chemtrails, etc., but in the same time keep up with internal work on impressions, entropy, negativity, etc.

I try to be careful not to watch too many movies with so called conspiracy theories, but “conspiracy” in itself seems to be just another term to denigrate and ridicule a deeper search of truth about the society we live in… I went for an awareness walk in a nice park last week, and there was a huge chemical trail over the whole sky above the place where I walked – there is so much going on beyond a normal perception.

  14. “Being ignorant of something is to be a victim of it; at the end of the day, we are the ones who suffer. Ultimately every effect in our life and the world has its cause, and to be ignorant of the cause is to continuously suffer through what can sometimes be devastating effects without being able to break free of them.” Exceptional point!

Unfortunately ignorance runs so deep and it has pervaded every aspect of life and as you highlight on all 3 levels of existence. Even reading this there is so much we are ignorant off..most fundamentally ignorant of our ignorance.

We have been fooled by our pleasures, by entertainment and greed, into thinking our standard and quality of life is better than it ever has been. The fear of this being untrue, propels many into willful ignorance, and as the situation worsens, the magnitude of it dwarfs our already passive nature and we then surrender everything that makes us human for that thing we sought in the first place, which caused us to be at such a loss.

  15. It’s so disheartening looking around and seeing more and more evidence that this is the kind of reality this world has. I can see why people don’t want to believe it’s happening.

I’ve been reading George Orwell’s 1984, and it is sadly way too accurate for the kinds of things that have already happened, are starting to happen and if things continue in this way more or less will materialize. Even looking into the fictional ‘big brother’s’ slogan’s makes one see an obvious connection to the kinds of actions governments and the powers that be around the world are taking and we’re going right along with it unfortunately: “WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.”

These slogans may be from a fictional book but it certainly seems we are being fed these same lies or being pushed by this distraction or that, so it becomes a way of thinking/acting without even realizing it. It really does seem the more and more we’re ignorant of what’s happening around us on the levels you’ve pointed out, can’t possibly lead to a good outcome or a ‘global awakening’ of any kind. Just shoving us closer to mind control, as crazy as that may sound, does seem like we’re really setting ourselves up for it on a world wide scale.

In 1984 it gets to the point where people aren’t even aware there was ever a time when freedom actually just meant freedom.

Thanks for this article Angela. Interesting timing since I’ve been really reflecting lately on how to become more serious and active about what is needed to really make a difference in changing these types of things not only within myself but hopefully on a larger scale as well since it’s definitely all connected.

    • It’s amazing how people write down what is going to happen and then humanity sits back and allows it. 1984 is one of the best examples.

  16. What a beautiful and hopeful article showing simple and clear how we can really gain the opportunities in our life to direct and control it by ourselves.

It spoke deeply in me highlighting our responsibility and the consequences of our decisions and actions in all the levels of our life.

Something that has shocked me very much is realizing that being ignorant of anything does not only make us a victim of it, but also a perpetrator who is responsible for it. And that is something I have felt deeply when I had refused to get the information that was needed.

Many times I have noticed and wondered about what Jenny mentioned, about the big lies and how difficult it is for people not to believe them, even if sometimes the truth is obvious.

“One of the things knowledge does is to give the ability to make choices about our destiny based on a wider understanding of reality. So it’s important to be informed about our physical world, about ourselves, and also about non-physical realities to be able to create the potentially wonderful consequences that action based on the knowledge of wider realities brings.”
Reflecting on these lines encourages me and gives me deeply, strength. Somehow works light a reminder, triggers my heart when fear or laziness or other inner states prevent me from taking the next step.

Thank you Angela very much for this article.

  17. Geraldine says:

Very powerful article.. These three points of physical, emotional and spiritual levels of ignorance is something that comes up in our daily routines, as we go about our day, not thinking much, not realising what we do, not paying much attention to our thoughts, the choices we make, what we choose to say, to do, to buy and so forth..

There are so many things in the world that are truly terrible and so sad – it is impossible to call our humanity ‘advanced’. Injustice has grown ever more so, barbaric acts have become so common, things that 20-30 years ago would have been rightly seen as utterly depraved are now so common on TV, in movies, in the music industry that it feels that we have entered a state of active degeneration..

We are being desensitized to being ‘human’, and through ignorance, we are quickly turning into animals, worse than animals as we can manipulate, choose to inflect pain (both psychological and physical) toward all things..

I truly hope that this article can help people (and myself) wake up more, and make different choices in our day, based on the search for truth instead of giving in to ignorance.. And if only there was a mass effort from everyone to choose to live consciously instead of in an auto-pilot mode, what a difference this would make to the whole word.

A very, very powerful article. Many thanks for writing it.

  18. Alexandros says:

Thank you Angela for your article. Reading it, was like passes into three stages, physical, emotional and spiritual levels.

I see around that most of the people ignore the consequences in a physical level. For example, in the daily issues of society, politics have still ignorance. They don’t want to see that many things belong to a secret politic agendas even there are many clues about it.

It is like they afraid of to see the truth around, maybe seeing the truth is an earthquake in their lifes.
So they prefer to put the real news and events under their mat. Some people they cannot understand the benefits of recycling…which is something simple.

In my country, the majority still support the same politics who bring the chaos and others prefer to be sheeps of political parties that generate hatred in society.

So, I am thinking, how difficult for someone is to see and understand the things in the psysical level and then goes to a deeper one…

    • I think that’s an interesting point Alexandros, because people are being caught up in an argument between political right and wrong which brings up so many emotions and thoughts, that it makes it difficult for them to even step away and take a closer look at the reality in front of them. It really traps people into this feelings of right and wrong and makes them take a side, in what can be deceit all round.

I think we have really lost so many spiritual principles that we are left with opinions, traditions, ideas and things like that, which make it harder to determine truth from fiction. Without spiritual principles of life, then its a battle of the minds and emotions. I can see in my own life how important it is to try and acquire these principles and live them out, because it seems to me they really help to clear up the distortion that we are caught in.

  19. Thank you for taking such important and profound topics and explaining them in a way that is easily understood.

  20. Thank you Angela very much for this concise summary of what’s going on today on so many levels. As a matter of fact, I just came across this shocking video which is the most informative I have seen so far regarding the plans of the global elite to keep the world population enslaved on so many levels. I guess the reality is too horrible and sophisticated for people to believe to be true:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN4XICOyRb8

    • Thanks Lucia, that was fairly full on, but worth a watch. Interesting the section around 17 minutes where she’s talking about how those in power behind the scenes are trying to create a new ‘womb’ for the public, to give the illusion that they are safe.

      • Speaking of keeping people “safe,” check out this fantastic new building we’re going to have in Canada by next year!

        http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/inside-canada-s-top-secret-billion-dollar-spy-palace-1.1930322

        • That’s an interesting one, Jordan. I think one of the commenters on there (Think Outside The Box) has highlighted the real issue pretty well:

“Don’t be distracted by the cost of the building – this boondoogle is designed to distract you. The real story is that CSEC can hack into any computer apparently. Your computer, my computer, Justin Trudeau’s computer, Thomas Mulcair’s computer, Elections Canada’s computer, Parliamentart Budget Office computer etc. etc. etc. Imagine a world were the government can spy on any number of opposition members, groups, goverment watchdog organizations etc. etc. etc. This of course is all speculation on my part and of course there is no need to worry as there are laws and oversight in place to protect everyone from the dark side of spying.”

Lucia, thanks for the link — very interesting. That’s a lot of serious stuff to consider. Lindsay Lohan’s life woes on the other hand are much more “palatable” and entertaining… You can really see why it’s so hard to get to real information with so many distractions in the way.

        • Wow, J-man. Thanks for the heads up on Canada’s new spy palace. Never thought they had it in them to try to match the NSA’s spying program..

      • Yes David, I also wondered what those “wombs” would be… if they would be just an artificial propaganda that would keep people asleep and in a passive mindset (something like it is happening now), or if those would be some kind of actual physical places. In any case, despite all this load of darkness everywhere, it seems many people, from all avenues of life are awakening to this Global evil and hopefully we can all team up and fight together to deserve some Divine help with our actions.

    • There was an interesting quote on the page she talks about in that video:

The individual is handicapped, by coming face-to-face, with a conspiracy so monstrous, he cannot believe it exists. The American mind, simply has not come to a realization of the evil, which has been introduced into our midst . . . It rejects even the assumption that human creatures could espouse a philosophy, which must ultimately destroy all that is good and decent.

      - FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, 1956

    • Here is one more video from this woman; I like how she has the capacity to simplify all the detailed and complicated info she has come through to explain this to general public. Here she talks about how she and her husband started all this research when their tenants were complaining about the so-called “smart meters” that are being massively “deployed” all over the US and how they found out that the radiation of these meters is extremely hazardous to human health.
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5mAOyp6fRc#t=1157

  21. In the past, though I’ve always known many of the corrupt things going on in the world intuitively, I never really dwelt into things too deeply. It was enough that I knew things were wrong, and I felt like I didn’t need much proof or to occupy myself with these things too much. Now I see how important it is to be aware of things taking place all around, and not to fall victim to them whenever possible.

Something like chemtrails is a good example — when I first heard about them I didn’t really care. Seemed like just another thing I had no control over (unlike say, with food, where you can choose healthier alternatives – to an extent, anyhow). Once I understood what they were, and had the “good fortune” of witnessing them being diffused over the sky every single day, I was really saddened by what’s happening, but also blown away by how apparent they are and how nobody seems to be noticing them. I started pointing them out to some people around me and it literally took years for people to become convinced. I think that some of the “lies” are so big, that they’re very difficult to not believe in. It’s definitely shocking to discover that we are being regularly sprayed with poisonous substances and that the clouds above are not clouds at all, but are something akin to a painted sky, something almost straight out of “The Truman Show”… Sometimes I wonder if I even know the true colour of the sky or what a real cloud looks like these days, because where I am the spraying never seems to end.

The same applies to everything around though and it’s all so interconnected, and it’s incredible that many people though seeing all this take place, either can’t believe in it or choose not to, probably because it’s easier to carry on. I find this so limiting though, especially considering the points you’ve brought up in the article about how the true meaning of life, the spiritual nature of things, falls under this same strand of things people choose to ignore or mock without really understanding what’s happening around in the world, how it impacts all of us, and how we can do something about many of these things.

  22. Thank you for this very well structured and well written article. When speaking to people about the fractional banking system, fiat currencies, central banks etc, it’s almost like a hypnotic aura comes over them and they cannot take in the information. This reminds me that others are fighting to inform me of things I am ignorant of but in the same way I am so conditioned I cannot take the information in.

“Our children, partners, friends, and family, for example, suffer the untoward negative vibrations from our angry thoughts and hurtful words.” – Ouch.

    • There seems to be a focus on where money is going and not where it is coming from. Maybe that response from people about the monetary system comes from them trying to cross reference or associate what you are saying with anything thing that they have heard?

Of course they haven’t heard it because It isn’t discussed. All that seems to be out there is with regards to who has the money and where it is going.

A degree of objectivity and clarity is required to look at these matters; this appears to be rare.

  23. Thanks Angela for writing this article. You mention many relevant points about ignorance but looking into these things can be very uncomfortable. On a physically level; e.g. people being exploited and nature being destroyed by the company you buy your phone from, would you still buy the gadget you really want as your old one is not in fashion anymore? What about chemtrails, are they real, as there are many websites out there saying it’s just condensation. What about the people around us, what will they say when you bring these things up? Even if they are real what can we do against massive corporations and their agendas? We have to give things up and get out of our comfort zone which can be a difficult thing.

I do sense ignorance is harmful as I eventually will hurt myself as the consequences of my actions become apparent. The below two lines resonate with me and I feel they can be of value when a part of me in unwilling to take a new step into getting this knowledge you talk about.

“Being ignorant of something is to be a victim of it; at the end of the day, we are the ones who suffer”

“One of the things knowledge does is to give the ability to make choices about our destiny based on a wider understanding of reality”

  24. It’s good to be in the known of all three levels. I also find that that common lethargy engulfing the world can be very hard to break free from. That picture with family and chemtrails in the sky is something that can really make you think.

  25. Wow. It is really amazing how you take what’s important and relevant in our world today and bring awareness to it in such a consise & helpful article. I am going to forward this on!

  26. Gabrielle says:

Thanks, Angela. What you say here makes a lot of sense.

I especially appreciate the point you made regarding how this knowledge and understanding empower us in such a direct way: “One of the things knowledge does is to give the ability to make choices about our destiny based on a wider understanding of reality.”

I feel that is such an incredible and real outcome of knowledge.

  27. This tendency to let go of things that matter seems to be getting stronger and stronger in humanity. The picture with the TV broadcasting gossip news on the polluted beach speaks a thousand words, I think.

Your article is very different than many others I’ve read on the subject in that it points out the full dimension of the problem. It doesn’t only focus on the physical consequences but also the emotional and spiritual which are much more important.
I’ve noticed some times that articles that focus only on the physical aspect of ignorance and deception can miss the point and become identical to the way of thinking they oppose.

It’s a shame that subtle warnings cannot be heard anymore by the majority of people. We have become so passive that unless something really big takes place we won’t accept that something is seriously wrong and even then we try to cover it up as soon as we can so we get back to our ”busy” lives.

    • I agree – all too often articles about these issues only really focus on the physical side of things, which though a good starting point, fail to then get at the real underlying issues, causes, and consequences in eternity for both us as individuals and humanity as a whole.

No one should be expected to believe any of these things simply upon hearing about them, but neither should they just automatically shrug them off and plead ignorance. As you have pointed out, the consequences of doing so are very serious and very real.

    • Good points Christos.

In Australia really big things do take place and have little to no impact on people.

  28. Thanks for this article — it made me reflect on how much resistance there is to breaking free of ignorance, both within and externally.

Internally these different negative emotional states seem as though they don’t want to be recognized or seen for what they are. And it’s unfortunately so easy to get entangled in justifying and rationalizing how we are, instead of really understanding and changing ourselves.

Externally, there is an almost unbreakable power to the mainstream, accepted “wisdom” about how things are that seems to have most people completely captivated. It’s as though everyone is repeating the same story, and anyone outside of it is dismissed and marginalized.

From discussions I’ve had with people, it feels as though it’s not a matter of lack of intellectual capacity but almost an unwillingness to bear the discomfort of considering what is outside the familiar and popularly accepted.

At the same time, those discussions highlighted for me my own hidden beliefs, which could include believing in alternative ideas that I didn’t have personal experience of (something that seems very common as well).

That’s why the need to explore and investigate becomes so important, and then need for that inner discipline you mentioned.

    • That makes sense Justin, about people not wanting to face the discomfort of the truth. It also seems like we are programmed in group think from a very early age through the media, things we’re taught at school etc. and anyone who has a differing point of view is automatically an outsider and someone to be shunned, almost like they’re crazy or dangerous. ‘Conspiracy theorist’ for example I’m sure to lots of people means ‘crazy person’ in an underlying way, even if they wouldn’t necessarily voice it like that.

Seems like there is definitely the double edged sword that you mentioned too. If people are open enough to consider alternative views, then there seems to be an equal avoidance of truth in ideas like everyone is evolving to a higher level of consciousness, we don’t need to stand up for our rights as we will evolve to new ways of spreading information and awakening etc.

  29. Thanks! Nice to see ignorance addressed on those 3 levels. It puts ignorance and it’s power in the greater context and this is helpful. Looking at it this way it helps to show the need to bring about a change in ourselves and how we can help others dispel their own ignorance too.

I’m grateful for the post! Peace be with you.

  30. A lot of people can’t see the chemtrails the same way some tribes couldn’t see European boats as they sailed into their shore for the first time.

The consequences of not seeing involve being conquered with relative ease and losing everything you have; which is what we have to look forward to.

Thank you for pointing out that ignorance of central banking system IS A PROBLEM.

    Much appreciated.
