An Astral Journey through the Mouth of Hell

The_Descent_of_Aeneas_into_Hell_-_Walters_One night in 1992 I had my first out-of-body experience in the underworld, or hell, and I was quite shaken by it.

I was walking in a street near my old school and was conscious of being in the astral plane. As I looked around I saw a kind of a gap in the sky; it was a gap in space itself. Intuitively I felt that I should explore it and so I rose into the air. As I got close I could see demons guarding it on the outside. They had that classical grotesque demonic appearance and looked quite threatening, so I expelled them with a recitation and went into the slit in space which was like a mouth. It was noticeably dark inside, even though it was night-time and dark outside.

As I went in, I was suddenly in a corridor that sloped downwards. I walked down it and walking with me were the deceased. They came through continuously, just walking in the one direction with no notion to walk in any other direction and with no notion to communicate to each other.

I walked down the corridor for a short time with these people who seemed to be like sleepwalkers. Eventually I came to a series of tollgates or booths. Each person went to a booth, and someone stood at each booth and collected something from each person.

As the deceased passed through the tollgate they kept their human form but inside they were animals, just animals enjoying the resonance and feel of the egos – they vibrated with them making growls and groans as they walked from the toll area into the darkness beyond. They had given up to the toll collector what it was to be human, as it was only given for a short time; they passed through the gates as animals.

I also passed through a tollgate but gave up nothing as the toll collectors didn’t ask anything of me, and instead of walking into the entrance of the area of darkness where the deceased went, I went into one of several waiting rooms to the right. The light was strange and subdued and I felt the fear of being in that place. I knew that I was being shown my fate and humanity’s fate at the same time. I knew who could help me in that moment – the Being who out of love helps to bring souls up out of that abysmal place to give them another human life and another opportunity – Judas.

I called his name earnestly over and over and he came into the door. He was such an unimposing figure who irradiated a quiet kind of warmth; he was the sort of person who would pass unnoticed in the world. He said to me “You have to practice whether you like it or not.” I looked at him and responded with silence, but with a silence that communicated a reply, “Yes I have to.” Soon afterwards I came back to my body, and I knew that I had to do what I’d been told.

Ammit and the toll collectors

Years later I spoke to a woman who had a near-death experience (NDE). In it she passed through the jaws of a crocodile and found herself in a waiting room with other people. Someone came in and told her that she had to go back because it wasn’t her time yet. It’s quite possible that she went into the same, or the same kind of waiting room that I had been in.

The crocodile head she saw is a being that has been depicted in ancient Egyptian mythology and religion as Ammit – a female who has the head of a crocodile, the body of a leopard, and the hind of a hippopotamus. She was called the “devourer of the dead” who swallows up the deceased who are to enter hell; she is an aspect of the mother goddess who presides over the soul entering Hades and she is also depicted in other cultures by other names. She is also substituted in some cultures for the head of a dragon. The woman who had the NDE knew nothing about Egyptian mythology.

That slit in space I saw is the portal between different planes. The one into higher planes is experienced in NDEs as a tunnel with light at the end.

The_Mouth_of_HellYears later I came across old European illustrations depicting what I had seen in the Mouth of Hell and discovered a couple of mentions of toll collectors in the Nag Hammadi Library book, in The Apocalypse of Paul and in The First Apocalypse of James, where to escape from the world we have to inevitably encounter the toll collectors:

“The Lord said to him, “James, behold, I shall reveal to you your redemption. When you are seized, and you undergo these sufferings, a multitude will arm themselves against you that <they> may seize you. And in particular three of them will seize you – they who sit (there) as toll collectors. Not only do they demand toll, but they also take away souls by theft.”
~ The First Apocalypse of James, translated by William R. Schoedel

I obviously wasn’t the first to travel there and come back.

Judas the advanced disciple

Judas wasn’t the evil figure that he’s generally believed to be. He didn’t betray Jesus out of negative intentions – he did it so that Jesus could fulfil his mission in showing humanity the path to awakening through the events of his life. Betrayal, unjust judgement, death to the world, and resurrection, are central to the process of the return of consciousness to its source. I’ve been through that part of the process myself and so I’m very aware of it. The events of Jesus’ life illustrate the stages of the path of awakening and Judas knew that it was essential for Jesus to go through the crucifixion, and to do that he had to be betrayed.

Betrayal is essential as it illustrates humanity’s betrayal not only of the Christ (The Spiritual Son) but of the clash between the things of the world and those of the spirit. The person going through this testing time has to give up attachment to the things of the world and put their volition and heart upon the things of the spiritual, as in this it is seen where their true heart lies. People turn away from the person, even trust, friendship, acclaim, and reputation are lost. They have to face abuse, condemnation, injustice and to the world they are destroyed, and it is the betrayer who is the instigator of all this. The Christ is the inner Christ and it’s those who have their inner Christ merged with their consciousness who go through this difficult process. Whoever successfully emerges from this test resurrects and is born again in spirit as an immortal being, not an immortal body, but an immortal spirit.

The case for the voluntary betrayal of Jesus by Judas is backed up by the discovery of the Gospel of Judas. It’s been proven to be an authentic early Christian text, which came to public attention in 2006 (I appeared on a couple of TV shows at the time discussing it).

You can download a copy of the Gospel of Judas here.

And the National Geographic has more information here.

And I also recommend The Flight of the Feathered Serpent by Armando Cosani for some excellent insights into Judas and his role.

The Gospel of Judas has pretty much faded away from the public eye now – Christians soundly condemned it and most people wouldn’t begin to wonder why he should have asked Judas to betray him, nor would they understand that there is a process of awakening that Jesus depicted with his life.

In the Gospel of Judas, Jesus elevates Judas amongst his disciples. He was talking to his disciples and took Judas aside and said to him:

“Step away from the others and I shall tell you the mysteries of the kingdom. It is possible for you to reach it, but you will grieve a great deal.”
~ The Gospel of Judas, edited by Rodolphe Kasser, Marvin Meyer, and Gregor Wurst

Later he reveals great mysteries to Judas and says to him:

“You will exceed all of them. For you will sacrifice the man that clothes me.”
~ The Gospel of Judas, edited by Rodolphe Kasser, Marvin Meyer, and Gregor Wurst

Jesus is giving Judas task, a role he has to fulfill and then finally at the end of the gospel Judas fulfills it and betrays him, but he was clearly doing Jesus’ will.

Some people have met Judas in hell in out-of-body experiences as he’s there voluntarily helping people to come out. He has awakened and has sacrificed his happiness in higher regions for the sake of others.

Hell’s existence

For most people, the existence or non-existence of hell is a belief, but the inferior dimensions are regions of existence that anyone can experience by having out-of-body experiences. Most people however, experience them by having nightmares.

hell-John_Martin_002Light and darkness exists in creation, and its gradient gives form to everything. For a higher plane of light there is a corresponding lower plane of darkness. Along my spiritual path I’ve carried out esoteric works that have their base in nine different higher planes; these correspond to the nine heavens which many ancient esoteric and spiritual texts refer to. These nine heavens have their corresponding lower planes, and are the base from where I have also carried out esoteric works.

The three-dimensional reality is the center point between the planes of light and darkness. What is physical has neither higher nor lower properties – it is simply a vehicle for what is in the nine heavens and nine hells to manifest within. It’s the point from which to ascend or to descend.

Hell has been called many names in the past such as the abyss, Hades, Tartarus, the Sheol, the underworld, Kuzimu, Narakam, Diyu and many others according to the civilization. People throughout history have given accounts of being there in out of body experiences, astral projection, and in near death experiences, and there are many scientific theories that give rise to the possibility and even probability of other dimensions or parallel universes existing.

Botticelli_ChartOfDantesHellScience is really behind human experience on this one though, as the existence of hell is non-physical. It’s difficult to find evidence of different dimensions, although the theory of different dimensions could explain movement and possibly existence at its smallest levels such as photons and quantum matter.

The human psyche in the three-dimensional world is limited to its five senses, and the universe we perceive through them is what we understand of existence. But when we leave the body and have an out-of-body experience we perceive without our three-dimensional body and we perceive things according to the region we are in.

There are many forms of light and vibration and some belong to the lower regions just as others belong to the higher ones. -Master_of_the_Ingeborg_Psalter_1195_-_about_1210)All the hells and heavens are right here and now and so too are their corresponding states within each human being. There are low, heavy, negative states and dark places and regions that people inhabit in dreams. Nightmares are a direct trip to the infra-dimensions.

There is an energy that goes from the coccyx bone into the lower regions. It’s been called the Kundabuffer and it’s the opposite of the Kundalini. It’s depicted as the tail on demons and it cycles lower energy and vibration from the lower planes into the human psyche and then sends it back down as energetic food for the lower regions.

The cycle of lives

Every human being is on a cycle of lives, which is sometimes referred to as the Wheel of Samsara. It’s possible to get off this cycle by meeting the esoteric requirements to get off it; it’s not that impossible to do it. Jesus referred to it as a circuit of lives in his teachings in the Pistis Sophia and refers to it many times. Here is one example:

“If while still in life they do not repent but remain persistently in their sin, and all the souls which have stayed behind without, that is those which have had the number of the circuits which are appointed them in the sphere, without having repented,–well, at their last circuit will those souls, they and all the souls of which I have just told you, be led out of the jaws of the tail of the dragon into the dungeons of the outer darkness.”
~ Pistis Sophia, translated by G. R. S. Mead

In the Pistis Sophia Jesus gives very lucid descriptions of what to expect between lives. It ties in perfectly with accounts of near death experiences. I don’t think that it’s possible for anyone who is even in the advanced stages of awakening to have such profound and consistent experiences as he did – it looks as though Jesus was born already enlightened and came to this world to fulfil a mission and that he retained his memory from before his birth, having long before attained the elixir of immortality.

Essentially, between lives people generally have experiences of heavens or hells, depending upon what needs to be learnt and upon the actions of one’s life (karma). Jesus in the Pistis Sophia explains that experiences between lives are temporary, so for example although someone spends time in hell, that time is temporary as it is for an allotted period only, and, when their time is up, they return to another life on the circuit.

That’s not the hell that I saw in this experience of going through the mouth of hell. What this was, was people who had finished this circuit of human lives, who did not get free of the wheel of lives, for whom devolution has begun.

You may occasionally come across accounts of near death experiences which actually are the final judgement, in which a person is judged and then enters, or goes to enter hell, but is given more time on earth and comes back to live out the extra years of life here.

An example of what could possibly be one such experience is here:

The people I saw were not coming back, they had finished this circuit of human lives and were returning in a devolving fashion on nature’s wheel. They were stripped of what was human, the human mind, and what remained was bestial only. That’s why they could only feel the vibrations of the egos and the only bodies they could have from then on would be those of beasts.

The human mind is a gift given to consciousness to endow it with the faculty of self-awareness and thus the ability to awaken. It’s what distinguishes the average person from an animal. When passing through the tollgates it’s given up because it has no further use.

There was no repentance in them, because there was no repentance in their previous lives and no willingness to change from an animal state to a spiritual one when they had a time as a human being on earth. They enjoyed the pleasures of the egos and their low vibrational states; they lived as animalistic people and now became animals.

The matter of the abyss is so important that everyone who has the opportunity should try to discover its existence by having out-of-body experiences. Doing this not only uncovers a profound aspect of the nature of reality, but it has an immense and lasting impact upon anyone who goes there.

Thanks Belsebuub for sharing this information and your detailed experiences. It really is alarming to hear what awaits us if we don’t make drastic changes in our lives. I hope to work much harder to one day meet the standards to get free from this wheel of nature.

Just curious. I’m just now starting to study how to remove the ego from what I do. Modern Christianity has Judas as a reviled person. You hold him as a paragon. Also, your “spirit name” being belsebuub is very much like the Beelzebub demon.

Why should anyone take what you are saying as anything but from the devil? I am not accusing but you say how this is important work, yet the symbols, names and work you have people do seem to come from the devil. Would like to understand more, and I’m sure you would say, do the work, yet I guard my soul and would not want to follow someone’s teachings that clearly do not have Jesus Christ as the center.

Anyhow, if you feel like replying to my questions, please do. I am not accusing but relaying my fears.

      Hi Mark,

Welcome to the site and the teachings here!

As a student of these teachings, perhaps I could share just a little of my own understanding here. I’m sure others will comment as well.

Firstly with regard to the name, I was practicing the teachings of Belsebuub for a few weeks or months before I even noticed his name and by then, so many amazingly positive things were happening for me and I was learning so much that I wasn’t at all bothered by it.

The name did strike me as odd, but I later learned that we all have a Being with an eternal name. He is a great teacher. Having also met him in the astral plane, I cannot adequately describe the intense love he emanates. It is all encompassing. Through these sorts of experiences, I have the fullest confidence in the goodness and wisdom behind these teachings.

I’m not sure if you’ve read the Flight of the Feathered Serpent? It’s a really inspiring book that teaches an esoteric side of Christianity and Judas’ role in the life of Jesus. Here’s a link to a free download: Coming from a Christian background, but having an interest in mysticism, I think you might really enjoy it. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve read that book.

In essence, Judas represented the defect of desire and how, if we give in to desire, we sacrifice Christ and spiritual things for pleasures and possessions that ultimately have no value.

Wishing you much strength and Light!

Hi Mark, your questions are valid, but I don’t think you will get satisfaction from believing one way or the other. Why should anyone take what is written here except from an enlightened being? Where else could you read such clear descriptions of other world experiences? The symbols, names and work seem to come from awakened conscious beings as far as I am aware. Guarding your soul presupposes you have one to guard, so maybe defining what soul is would be a start to clarifying what we mean, or do you mean guarding your fear? Most people haven’t met Jesus Christ and so it is a figment of their imagination and or blind belief or indoctrination. Fear plays a great part in belief. Equally many might say they have met Jesus, but can we believe them or not? At some point, fear needs to get off the fence. One side is fantasy, the other reality. Study everything here, try it and see. Maybe you will see great value in it, maybe not. If you apply the exercises it will help activate consciousness that can then be used to determine the right choice, rather than the transient mind and stomach with its fears.

      Hi Mark,

If you are interested in understanding a perspective beyond conventional Christianity, to know why some regard Judas as a paragon, you could check out the free eBook ‘The Flight of the feathered Serpent’:

It explains how Jesus asked Judas to betray him so that events could unfold as they needed to. The role Judas had to play in those events represented something evil, a betrayer, but the man playing the role was not evil.

Regarding Mark’s spiritual name ‘Belsebuub, I don’t think think it is fair to judge someone by their name. As Jesus said, a tree is known by its fruit, and Belsebuub’s fruits are his teachings which can only be understood on their own merits. If you are not willing to explore those teachings, you will never really know if they are truly spiritual. Christ is actually at the centre of his teachings, but in a way beyond what modern Christianity understands. If you want to understand more about that you could read the The Path of the Spiritual Sun.

I know that Belsebuub’s teachings are truly spiritual through putting aside preconceived ideas and practicing them. Of course you don’t need to take my word for it, but if you aren’t willing to see for yourself you will never know, and nothing anyone can say could really convince you, nor is it anyone else’s role to convince you, as finding the truth is personal journey and responsibility.

      Hi Mark,

Every person has their own unique spiritual name, which is not a name they choose. Belsebuub is the name of Mark’s Being, and the being Belsebuub has nothing to do with evil/dark forces at all. It is the eternal name of his consciousness.

You can read more about Mark and about his work here and here

The work of the Christ, The Spiritual Son/Sun is written about very much on this site in articles and books, it’s a central focus.

      For example in articles like
and in the book The Path of the Spiritual Sun

Regarding Judas, the discovery of The Gospel of Judas revealed a lot regarding the role of Judas in the betrayal of Jesus.

You can check out and if you are interested in learning more.

      Hi Mark,

Just to add onto what other people have said, I was raised in a Christian family, but I never participated much and didn’t enjoy going to church as a kid and adolescent, as I found what was being taught a bit dry and unreachable / impractical. Through studying Belsebuub’s teachings though and learning more about myself and esoteric symbolism I came to greatly appreciate the bible and Jesus’ teachings, as I was able to understand what they were saying much more clearly, and see that they held a really deep meaning and could be an amazing spiritual guide. Not too long ago my Mum remarked that I was more Christian now than I ever was growing up and I credit my understanding and the positive changes in my life to practising Belsebuub.

If you do decide to try these teachings (which I hope you do, you’d be missing out on a lot if you don’t) and start having out-of-body experiences (which the disciples of Jesus also had) at some point you will likely come across a negative entity in the astral. Hopefully you will also be able to contact and learn from Belsebuub directly there too. I have done both, and there are no parallels between Belsebuub and the demonic entities there. There is nothing evil about Belsebuub, he is a source of great learning and insight and love. The true evil are the negative / demonic entities which irradiate fear and darkness, and try to deceive people and take them away from the path.

I think others have provided a lot of great suggestions. For example, Jenny provided so many links to resources that directly address your inquiries.

I grew up as a Christian. Personally, when I found Belsebuub’s teachings, I was very happy to find something so practical that helped me to become a better person and to connect with spirituality in such a direct way.
Since the practices work, and I was able to start confirming his teachings directly, I continued to use them. It was just what I had been searching for.

You mentioned that you are new to removing the ego. Have you spent much time at this site? It’s not a website on Christianity, but spending a little time here, you will find numerous references to the Christ, as well as virtues of humanity, love, kindness, and so much of what Jesus Christ represents embraced throughout this site. Yet, Belsebuub goes deeper into how to actually become like Christ, through esoteric practice and spiritual transformation.

Likewise, their are countless references and many articles explicitly explaining the need to counter darkness and exposing very sinister and evil things of this world…as well as what we can do to help address these issues.

I know the spiritual Being Belsebuub to represent love. I have confirmed this myself, through esoteric experiences, and there are many people who have done the same. If you are interested, here are some examples of accounts in which people have had experiences with the spiritual Being Belsebuub:

      Hello Mark,

I grew up Christian, but it was through Belsebuub’s work that allowed me to embrace the message of Christ with all my heart, and love it so much more than I ever did before, because he has pointed out a much deeper message in Christ’s teachings, one that refers to a greater cosmic teaching, which the public message of the church could never convey. I honestly feel truly blessed that I came across these unique teachings and had enough of an open mind to see a whole new scope of life and the way religion was meant to be used. I often wondered what would have happened if my mind was closed, that in a brief instant I would have rejected everything I could have learned from studying a more esoteric view of christianity, mysticism and spirituality. I remember being at awe at how fortunate it was that I took time to explore things for myself, and as many have said before, there are practices given that strengthen the essence, the spiritual within, that helps us to decipher the truth of things, of reality and even of our past beliefs.

Although sometimes challenging, its been quite an enjoyable experience to shatter many of my own beliefs and rigid ways of thinking and accepting, which I still find myself doing to this day.

I hope you have the chance to keep an open mind and explore some things for yourself if you can. Good luck to you.

By the way, Flight of the Feathered Serpent is an incredible book, the loyalty and care that Judas carried out is an inspiring story that far too many will not be willing to find out about.

      Hi Mark,

It’s great that you are trying to remove your ego. How does modern Christianity suggest you do this? I hope you can read the articles here with an open mind and heart, as for me, these teachings have been the only thing that have helped me to understand the ego and start working on reducing it.

Modern Christianity says a lot of things. A lot of the esoteric depth of Jesus’s teachings were hidden from the masses and important teachings even subverted, in particular the role of the feminine force in divinity. This is one of my favorite articles that points out in part the damage modern Christianity has done to true spirituality.

I mention this as I think it’s worth seeing the flaws and the limitations in Christianity. I imagine it can be hard if it’s something you’ve been brought up with or been part of for a long time, but in our search to understand real spirituality and true religion I think we need to be willing to challenge ourselves and beliefs. After all, isn’t this part of overcoming the ego?

I was brought up in an atheist family and so had zero reaction to the name Belsebuub. I think I just thought it was quite exotic sounding. It was only when talking to others about these amazing teachings that I’d found (I had been searching for a while for something that felt true and alive) that someone said ‘isn’t that the devil’? All I could say was ‘of course not.’ My mother was contacted once by a concerned acquaintance, she checked the site and could see ‘it’s peaceful stuff’. I think anyone can see its not dangerous and dark, but whether you can feel that it’s actually from an awakened Being might take more inquiry. .
If you take the time to read the work here and meditate on it, I believe you will find a peace that this is not something dangerous dressed up. Best of all, learn to astral travel and meet the Being himself!

Wishing you much courage and clarity to find the truth!

    Times are very serious.

Having been hit, with a great inner shock, it made me feel that only the spirit is what matters, that’s the only thing. When in danger of losing the connection to the spiritual you see frightfully that all other pathways are completely empty.

This opportunity. To have been given these teachings by Mark. To be so fortunate to have the inner understanding and divine help given to actually take it up. And then, to not value it by not doing what I must do, by being passive, being lukewarm….To have allowed the sleep of death to weaken me, forgetting the seriousness, and thus blocking me from where my heart yearns to go. This is truly my great sin.
If this is not changed, in time, soon, it will catch up with me. Only deed and action are heard now and could perhaps bring forth a mercy.

Over time, by the weight of life, entropy and on an ignorance I had come to forget that which I always knew to be most important. The realisation that the primary thing, the base, is to be aware, awake, to practice the ‘1st key’ which is right here, right now. This is the priority. With it everything becomes alive and works. Without ‘having it’ nothing matters, everything is in time. And if we go on like that, like ‘automatons in a shell’, it will not do.

I wish everyone all they need to do what is needed.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for the article. I have trying to go to the abyss in the astral plane. I haven’t made it there yet. I haven’t astral projected in a while and I need to build up the discipline and concentration to do it but it is my current astral goal. I would like to go there and experience it for myself. I definitely appreciate the opportunity we have in this life to change. Thanks for all of the inspiration you provide.

      Hi Michelle,

You write – “I have trying to go to the abyss in the astral plane. I haven’t made it there yet. I haven’t astral projected in a while and I ….would like to go there and experience it for myself.”

Fourth Dimension – We all normally astral project to as in my case wake up astral which is the fourth dimension. There is the supra-dimensional superior dimensions and the infra, or infernal dimension. The demons all live in the inferior dimensions.

Demon Ego’s/Devil Selves – Ego’s are all demonic – be aware that 99.99% of demons you may encounter are your own ego’s. I have woken up in the inferior dimensions and have experienced demons.

Divine Father – My demonic ego’s were so powerful that I was overcome by them in the Abyss. I woke up in a desolate room in a building that was in a skyscraper. I saw a demon in each corner of the room and invoked the “Jupiter/Zeus invocation” and failed. One demon told me “you have to have faith when invoking.”

I immediately asked for help and a priest then appeared holding a bible covered in gold (like the bibles that the Greek and Russian Orthodox priests use) in his left hand, and, in his right hand he had a golden staff. This priest – who I discovered later after meditating on what I had experienced was in fact my divine father – used this golden staff to destroy these demons. He threw the last of these demons out the window. I ran to the window and my divine father told me not to look out the window. I obeyed. I then woke up here in the 3rd dimension and it was 7 00 am with the sun shining in my face. The lesson I learned was to overcome fear by learning to ask for assistance through my divine parents and to have faith. I learned that genuine faith is more than recitation, just believing and hiding behind words.

Michelle, I pray that you get receive experience that you require to assist with your development. Don’t forget to ask your divine Mother with genuine faith and not out of curiosity, and she will always assist you. Every person, apart from one, that I have shared my experience with has an experience through their divine mother in many forms. The person who failed to have an experience asked out of curiosity, and to this day, has failed to

I just wanted to share that this has been such a helpful article and set of resources. It has continued to spark a lot of reflection, understanding, and inspiration to change. The importance of repentance and asking for mercy, seem critical at this time.

I was inspired to reread the Flight of the Feathered Serpent. That has been helpful to me in understanding how things became this way.

For example, a passage that really resonated with me was when Judas explained that remembrance would keep the journalist in contact with him…and then he goes on to say, “I can only accompany you for some time. If you don’t learn how to treasure what I give you, if would only be your fault.” This is just one example that I felt had relevance to understanding the current state of things. I appreciate that it was included in this article.

Thank you for sharing that quote from FFS Gabrielle. It is quite helpful to see that there are the universal laws related to this. It is very hard for me personally to see how to properly value things and how to express my gratitude. Sometimes things can become confusing, I think, especially if something is given for free. Most people take it for granted and don’t think any pay back is required. But I am learning there is always a price to things, even if they are given freely. Even in mundane life, if somebody gives you something for free, you are still left with the feeling that you need to do some sort of favor for that person someday, in one way or another. I guess this relates to the univeral law of giving and receiving, which needs to be in ballance. Nobody can just keep receiving all the time without giving anything back in return, in one way or another. The difficult thing is to see what is the right way to help, something that’s really needed as opposed to what we think is needed. Something that does not do more harm than good, something approppriate to the circumstances.

    Dear Mark,

Once again thank you for your great article An Astral Journey through the mouth of Hell and you brought back memories.

Ego – It was you who first taught me about Master Judas when you were teaching us about the ego and more importantly its pluralised state. I was going to describe what you saw in hell that day but you may want to use it in a future article so I will refrain.

Flight of the Feathered Serpent – is my favourite gnostic text. That mazing book and Judas’s subtle teachings appeal to the heart and each sentence has a universe of knowledge. Every time I read it I observe something new and beautiful. I have noticed that if I am doing the work diligently, the Flight of the Feathered Serpent provides me with a reward – it’s too hard to put in words – and becomes even more meaningful.

The Lord’s Prayer – Master Judas in Part I of the Flight of the Feathered Serpent is where I learned how to correctly pray the Lord’s Prayer. Master Judas adds, “You cannot watch without praying, and you cannot without watching.” Master Judas is simply telling us that the self-observation is the basis of prayer. Master Judas provides valuable advice on how the Lord’s Prayer can benefit your daily life in and not only will it improve your focus and concentration, but it will greatly assist your daily review and assist with ego annihilation.

Living example – People if I can do it … you can all do it. I am lazy, inconsistent and currently my egos are running riot. However, I have noticed that when I am focused and follow the teachings within Flight of the Feathered Serpent that I have made profound self-discovery and the work becomes easier as Judas inspires a love for the work.

SUGGESTIOIN – Mark I hope that you do an exegesis of Part II which in my experience the most difficult of the books to comprehend within of the Flight of the Feathered Serpent as you have for the Nag Hammadi Library. It would greatly assist many of us to comprehend the beautiful words and overall work by Master Judas.

Let’s be honest we want to minimise Master Judas’s work in the first level of Hell by not having to call upon him to rescue us after passing the dreaded toll gates.

What powerful points and thank you for putting it so clearly, once again.

When you said, “There was no repentance in them, because there was no repentance in their previous lives and no willingness to change from animal state to a spiritual one when they had a time as a human being on earth. They enjoyed the pleasures of the egos and their low vibrational states, they lived as animalistic people and now became animals.” It’s not hard to see that in our lives, in us, in any given day. But our ideas, beliefs and illusions about ourselves stop us from seeing the horrible reality of how we are within and the harm we cause others as well as ourselves. It seems, however we face reality one way or another, in this current life where we can do something about it, or in the afterlife where we suffer the consequences of it. Which reminds me of your great article on the importance of using our time well.

The vibration of the animal states within us is very strong, and unless we truly seek to know what it’s like to not be how we are, then those states take their course to the hell because they vibrate from there. Recently I saw in a dream how the egos directly stem from the abyss and how they have us tied down unless we break free from them in the here and now.

This is truly the most remarkable website on the internet, the information you give is the most empowering information a person can have and your work the most enlightening, and I say this because of my experience of it.

Yesterday I was on the roof of a neighboring apartment building. There was an astronomer there, and he handed me special glasses for viewing the sun. I put them on, and everything was completely black, except the disk of the sun, which looked about as bright as a night light. It made me remember an experience I had, very brief, in this desolate dessert, with ruined buildings, a ‘flat’ sky, and a strange bird-man-like creature, cavorting as it flew threw the air (like from a Bosch painting). The sun was flat, and very similar to the one that I now saw through the nearly-opaque glasses: flat and devoid of the amazing power and light we see here.
Both physically and spiritually, the light can really reach us here, whereas it doesn’t really seem to where I was.

Thankyou belsebuub for sharing your experience and inspiring self investigation. It is truly amazing that all the experience of others are similar and I to experienced this infra-dimension.
My experience was similar. I woke up in a dream with the finger pull and conjuration to find myself in a place of molten lava and fire, with the land being swallowed up by this lava. The atmosphere was extremely hot and black, with a red glow. I was trying to hop from a small bit of land to the next so I wouldn’t be swallowed up myself, and as their was no land left to stand on I was suddenly in a line of people in the same atmosphere and the lava to the side and behind me in the distance. I realised that I had no control over my body, in fact I was being controlled like everyone else. we walk from land to stairs lots of stairs and I noticed between the stairs was peoples face that were torturous and screaming but without noise and their were 1000’s of them. I eventually got to an area were two demonic human like creatures were either side of a guillotine. It was terrifying to watch each person willing or unwilling put their own head in the guillotine and then drop into empty black space of torturous unknowingness. I was two people from the guillotine when I pray to Jesus for help as my body was walking towards the terrifying event. Then suddenly as it was my turn a voice announced that I may pass, and the demonic human put his right arm out and pointed to the turnstile in which I could walk through (what a sigh of relief). I walk up the stair case and felt the heavy, dark tortuous feeling diminish, until got to a floor and then was directed to a room, I waited a little then was free/woke-up. I did learn a lot from this experience and did question if I should write about it, but it is appropriate to help others I feel.
If anyone has some for info on the guillotine, I would appreciate it.
Thankyou for your time, peace be with you.

Thank you Belsebuub for tying all this profound information together in an article about something so vitally important to our existence, that we all really need to explore and understand.

It really brings home the need to have that willingness to change (and to make the effort to change) from animal states to spiritual one in everyday moments of our lives. If we enjoy those states and ways of living and do not sacrifice them, we are making a choice that has terrible repercussions. It is so sad that most of humanity seems to be making that choice without understanding it.

But for those of us who have the means to get out of this, it would be an even greater tragedy to have that opportunity and waste it.

Thanks very much for sharing all of this. I thought it was interesting that there was no repentance in the people there because there was no repentance in them in their previous life. It highlights to me how important repentance is to changing internally and to changing one’s fate.

It is interesting to hear everyone’s experiences and the similarities. I could relate to some of these, as well.

The video was very touching, too. It really brought to light how important each act, thought, and feeling is. The level of regret that he experienced sounded so profound. I could relate to it in some way, and it invoked in me a feeling of never wanting to experience that. It reminded me of what you said in “If Your Life Was Over and You Could Relive It”.

“Imagine that your life is over and you’ve come out of your body, as will inevitably happen. You’ll be looking back on this life as something that is finished. How real is it then to you? How real is it to you when it is just a memory? And then imagine that you’re facing the gateway to hell, and you have to pass through it, it’s facing you and you know there is no alternative; there is nothing at all that you can do. If at that moment you had the chance to come back now to this moment, what would you do? How would you live your life from this moment on?”

With regard to Judas, I also have read The Flight of the Feathered Serpent and was deeply touched by the story and the teachings within it. I remember when the Gospel of Judas came out. I thought that it would really be a big deal, especially considering how many people have taken the time to discredit him. Unfortunately, it did not seem to matter.

The fact that he is there working to help people to change is very interesting, as well. It reminds me of how important it is to not give up on oneself or on others…and how important it is for all of us who care about the light and about this humanity to do our best until the end. We don’t know who might still be out there searching for these teachings or wanting this change. It also reminded me again of repentance and its importance to this work.

        That’s great, Craig.

Yes, that article has helped me so much. It helps me to break out of fascinations, as that paragraph in particular was so moving that it comes to mind often. It has helped me to break out of mindsets and to make better decisions.

It has also helped me to see things with perspective, as if connecting to a wiser aspect of myself and approaching life from that view.

It has even helped to put this work in a greater perspective, as it really brings to light the need to make a choice and to get off the fence, even internally….and to let go of complacency.

In my opinion, these times can seem hopeless, particularly when we compare the state of things now to what we all had in the days of the movement. Yet, I know that there is divine mercy, forgiveness, and help available. I have faith that it is possible for the light to be freed, but I feel that it would require much sacrifice, prayers, repentance, etc… to make a case for it.

Very well said Gabrielle, and thanks for posting that article, I had not read that previously or had forgotten about it. It is very important and pertinent to this topic it seems.

I don’t have any breath-taking astral experiences of the abyss, however I do have some experience with the jaws of the crocodile. The overwhelming feeling it gives is a huge feeling of self-repulsion, in terms of repulsion for the wrong one has done, and an intense desire to change those wrongs (at least for me).

  13. Olga June 3, 2015 at 12:49 pm - Reply

Its very interesting what you mentioned about Judas, how out of love he pulls people out of the abyss to give them another opportunity at a human life. I always thought that once we are in the abyss it is because it is our last life, we have missed the opportunity to reach a certain high level of spiritual purity and our human process ends, and we begin to go down the levels of hell in order to purge the evil states within us. But I am surprised to learn, if I understand correctly, of the grace, mercy and compassion, whilst even in these last stages of our ‘existence’, pretty much doomed by the tragic fate, or so it seems, we can still repent and have another opportunity at life, to be free of the grips of hell.

Thank you deeply Mark for sharing your experience and all the information you give here.
It’s so helpful! Your experience, all the details, highlighting Judas difficult role, the video, everything is so strong, touches deeply, shacks my heart. Seeing the bigger picture of reality, really gives strength, as it has been said.

Many years ago, I remember seeing a dream, which I felt was in abysses, because of the very clear and particular sense I had when I was there. I think I believed I was in the physical world also, but this remembrance has vanished after the years. It had a strange light, something like sub light, maybe more thick air and the scene was clear, showing me a particular result of that place related to what I’ll be going through and not being able to avoid it. I remember it clearly until now and mostly I recognize that completely unpleasant sense I felt. Awake after, I really didn’t want to live that.

Thank you deeply again for sharing and helping so strongly with all this!

  15. David June 3, 2015 at 7:35 am - Reply

Thanks for sharing this Mark. This part really stood out to me as to where our focus needs to be:

“The person going through this testing time has to give up attachment to the things of the world and put their volition and heart upon the things of the spiritual, as in this it is seen where their true heart lies.”

Interesting that it seems like there can be attachment of different types? One of not wanting to give up something we really like or get enjoyment from, and possibly another related to a lack of faith and trying to control the situations in our life, kind of like an attachment to how we want or think things should be.

I had an astral experience once where I was floating in space and then appeared in a place I felt was the abyss, or possibly an inbetween place like limbo where darkness still ruled. I don’t remember an opening in space, just that I was floating out there, and then all of a sudden found myself in a dark (both in light and feeling) city. The atmosphere had a red tinge to it, there were demonic beings everywhere and they were totally in control down there. It was a pretty terrifying experience, but one I feel like I needed to see as I’d intended to go somewhere else.

Thank you very much for posting this account of your amazing experience again, adding more details.

Regarding personal experiences of hells, I have been shown a place once that clearly was one of the levels of hell. What I felt there was a total feeling of entrapment, like no matter how much one would try to escape from there, eventually, he will be caught again and the tortures would continue. Kind of like a concentration camp… I think I was shown this as a direct result of a serious mistake I have made in my life and what would be my fate if I didn’t repent and didn’t ask for help. The region was clearly a region where the ego that caused that mistake was prevalent, even though of course, in much more crude form.

Other than that, I don’t remember ever having a nightmare, in a sense of heightened fear. Maybe I just don’t remember or maybe I am kind of “accustomed” to those regions that I don’t feel any strong emotions there. Or maybe it is a kind of protection, not sure.

Thank you also for bringing to our attention again the role of Judas in those regions. I was really captivated by his personality when reading The Flight of the Feathered Serpent, and some of his quotes stayed with me permanently, like for example what he said about crying, or friendship. It is unbelievable for me to imagine that even in those regions, there could be people who would have the strength to repent and try doing the spiritual work. I remember you mentioned somewhere before about how he already has a handful of disciples there, that would be given another chance in the physical world, and it makes me yearn to at least once meet this amazing master to see his work and the way he is able to accomplish something like that.

Thanks very much for sharing such a profound and what is clearly a life changing experience.
I recall having dreams where I could feel myself in a place where I was surrounded by people that were asleep, not conscious of where they were going, but they appeared to be all around me. I felt a very heavy and dense presence and it was the vibe that these people were giving off. It was almost as if I had entered this place to be shown something. It felt oppressive and I felt that I was not able to stop my progression down with these people. I recall waking up and having a sense of dread and how it felt like a hopeless place; it was really palpable.

It is very inspiring to hear of Judas and his work in this area; he is truly a wonderful being if he has chosen to sacrifice his own happiness and peace to help others. How amazing like others have said here to feel and become conscious of your presence in this awful place but to then be rescued out of there by a loving being like him.

It is so easy to get caught up in the dramas and emotions of this life and to forget about these things that all traditions have spoken to us about through their scriptures, etc. I had seen this video of the jewish man before. it is heart-breaking.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

It’s interesting to think of investigating those lower regions in a conscious manner. As a child I visited them quite a lot in nightmares, but, like others shared, those vanished as I grew older. I recall quite clearly though the flavour and intensity of those experiences and have a sense (though it’s probably quite limited/tinted/faded) of what to expect in those regions. I sometimes reflect on those childhood experiences and on how close we can be to inhabiting those regions internally and the ties that bind us to them…

It’s interesting that you thought of calling upon Judas in that experience — quite unexpected, especially considering your upbringing and how misunderstood his character is.

A profound reading. Thanks for sharing it.

Living normal life, in a sort of psychological mediocrity or sleep. Such a thing as hell, might seem not to exist at all.

When I was a child I had nightmares and experienced the terror of what those places are like. Now I don’t have nightmares. And to be able to consciously investigate such a region a high standard definitely needs to be reached.

I’ve had many experiences in the astral though, in which I’ve been shown a bit about these hellish regions and being shown the state of the human psyche. I can understand what you said about the human mind. In one such experience it felt like the mind was taken away from me, this mechanism, this tool was taken away. I couldn’t ‘get hold’ of anything, couldn’t direct the consciousness to perceive and hold onto the world around me and thus have this inner stillness. Without this ability there was no way for willpower to be used, there was no control and thus I was at the mercy of these ego’s energies, this endless chaos….. and I felt… in that moment when I couldn’t hold my own psyche together I could only pray to the father the only one who can save us from this endless chaos.
Even though during the day I thought human live has this sort of stability, it is actually not like that. I also felt how existence as a human is truly a gift.

I have read the Flight of the Feathered Serpent book many times. It’s a beautiful book. It seems that through it, the ‘personality’ of the being Judas really shines through. Having read the book, reading about the work he is doing and a few dream experiences have made me on a few occasions think: imagine the extreme horror of being in such a place of hell and then…. almost as an impossible hope, to have someone help you, from that place… When thinking about this I felt an appreciation for him.

The part about the betrayal is really well and simply explained here. For some reason it really clicked reading it this time and why it was something that was needed.

Thanks for sharing your first conscious underworld experience and some of the other information you have come to learn.

Yes, thanks Karim, it must have been a terrible feeling to not be able to use your mind and yet being aware of it. It is great you could still remember to pray.
It reminds me a bit of those totally messy subconscious dreams where everything “makes perfect sense” when I am there, but on awakening, I see a total lack of logic and how it was a complete nonsense. In moments like that, I get to appreciate the stability, clarity and a relative objectivity we can enjoy in the physical dimension and how we take all this for granted.

Thank you once again Mark for sharing your experiences of the Astral. I too have seen that gap in space, but unlike you, I found myself too horrified by it to continue. The fear that you mention is certainly palpable. It’s definitely not a place that you’d want to go (unless to meet with Judas).
Your words help me to understand the changes that I must continue to undergo in order to not go through the jaws of the crocodile. I pray that one day I will have the strength to investigate the infra-dimensions consciously, as you have done.

Also, thank you for posting the video: it was one I had been looking for and had been unable to find, as it also contains a very powerful message.

Thank you for sharing this experience, insights and information about this dimension. It really helps to approach the inner work from another side. Helps me to recognize the vanity of the materialistic way of living and the diverted use of the mind.
Some time ago we had a practice with some friends, visualizing ourselves falling into the crocodile’s mouth and feel how would be to be in hell with the absence of Light, and praying there for help. I don’t know if you’ld recommend such a practice but it was really beneficial for me and others.
I don’t have any conscious experience from this dimension but I would definitely wanted to. Worth to try at least.

Thank you Belsebuub, it is always interesting to hear about your experiences of infra-dimensions, I used to see nightmares on more or less a regular basis and after learning how to be conscious and use the OBEs as the tool to explore things, I tried to investigate hell and had a few very moving experiences.

Even seeing just a bit of how things are in hell, helps to understand clearer a bigger picture of life, when you see how lowly one can possibly fall and what are the ultimate outcomes of egos. Becoming more familiar with the nature of darkness helps a lot to recognize it in the world – you can just feel those hellish energies underneath nice masks and intelligent deception. Seeing hell is also a great encouragement to help more people spiritually, unless they have completely degenerated, you really don`t want them to go there.

I hope I can have of those experiences and be more conscious there.

When you bring a story of Judas, it keeps making me reflect about moral values. When we start with our spiritual development, they seem to help us a lot to establish a base of a good life and facilitate dealing with the complexity of the great unknown. But then later, there is so much of a new learning, but moral values stay fixed and can become not only limitations for consciousness, but justify all sort of harmful emotions.

So I can easily understand the story of an intentional betrayal by Judas on some level, but the “moral programs” inside me just don`t like it and I can`t easily let it go at this point.

Once I was out of body, conscious and wanted to go to egypt, my astral body immediately fell flat on the ground and went via the earth’s core. It was dark but various levels, with cities with lighted buildings in the far. After that I came out of that place …and my experience continued…But was that place with various levels and cities hell?

    • Lucia May 31, 2015 at 12:39 pm - Reply

Hi S, sounds like an interesting experience. Its hard to say (for me anyway), if what you traveled through were hells. It depends on the vibration/feeling you had from those places.

In general though, the hells as such are not located in the astral plane (the dimension you were traveling through), but in lower planes, so-called infra-dimensions. So if you just traveled in the astral, you may have just seen cities/areas that exist in that plane under the crust of the Earth. To travel in inferior dimensions/hells, you either need to go through a portal of sorts (like Belsebuub in this article), or you can get there unconsciously in dreams if you feed heavy states during the day or go to sleep on an upset stomach. Occasionally, we may be taken there to learn in a conscious or semi-conscious experiences during sleep.
