The Occult Influence of the Blood Moon

//The Occult Influence of the Blood Moon

In around 17 hours a conjunction of a number of lunar phenomena will take place – Full Moon, Super Moon (when the Moon passes closest to the Earth) and Blood Moon (which is a lunar eclipse). It won’t be visible in all parts of the world, but will mostly be visible in America, Europe, parts of the Middle East, and Africa.

It is the final Blood Moon/Lunar Eclipse in what has been a lunar tetrad.

“The September 28, 2015 Total Lunar Eclipse is the fourth and final eclipse in a series of four total lunar eclipses called the lunar tetrad. The first three eclipses of the tetrad took place on April 15, 2014, October 8, 2014 and on April 4, 2015.”

Everything in nature has its time – sometimes the winds favour the direction of the ship, sometimes they oppose it, and sometimes they do not blow at all. Each time in nature’s cycles can be used for different purposes, and both light and darkness are intrinsically part of the cycles of life. All times in life can be used wisely for inner learning by those wishing to awaken in light. But many instead use the dark parts of these cycles to aid evil, just like the cover of night cloaks the nocturnal predator.

Blood moons are psychically a time when the vibrations of darkness are magnified. For those interested in working with the light, it is a time to be on guard against the egos within and on alert for any flare ups, so as not to get drawn in, as the egos can sympathetically be brought into vibrating in resonance with the vibrations of the blood moon.

Belsebuub has an article explaining the hidden meanings and influences of the moon which you can read here.

I have noticed that many different types of groups of spiritual actors, are talking about a greater spiritual feeling after the three blood moons finalized their passage.

This article has been put together so well. Very easy to understand and has given me a much better understanding of the moons influence on both the earth physically and the individual spiritually.

    Thankyou belsebuub and angela

    The article associated – https://belsebuub.com/articles/the-occult-influence-of-the-moon
is excellent. Thanks very much for the explanation. Very insightful and helpful, particularly as more dark stuff seems to be appearing in the mass media. It seems the majority bundle anything occult or esoteric as dark, without knowing the positive side. I suppose it is inevitable as most are only exposed to the negative.
This type of article is great and helps show there is a positive side and not all is black.
It’s also very helpful to have black and white explained without religious ‘belief’, zeal or fanaticism. Thank you.

Thanks Shane, that’s a great article.

I’ve always known that the moon had an influence over our egos but this article has given me a proper understanding on the powers of darkness and the moon association. Most of all, this article highlights the need to internally work much harder during these dark moon influences. Also, I hope many of us will come to understand that we’re able to counter ceremonies of darkness with ceremonies of Light, such as the celebrations of the solstices and equinoxes

      Thanks Belsebuub and Angela.

Agreed, it is an excellent read and seems to be further updated than what I remember.

The last section of that article makes me wonder if it generally gets harder to be aware, self-observe and eliminate the egos whilst the moon is waning or if difficulties arise more during that time – something to look into.

Actually, the last paragraph of the article on this page above seems to answer that. The egos can get stronger during the time of the black moon, so that can be used to see the extent of what is within, to see reality as it is and use that to change for the better.

Thanks Shane for drawing attention to this article again. I’m glad you did, as I badly expressed a point about paying attention to the moon’s influence in one of my recent comments, so it could appear I was suggesting it’s clever to be flippant about the need to protect ourselves from the influence of darkness upon our daily lives. If we unwittingly become puppets to the forces of darkness, that is definitely not an intelligent way to live.

As you mentioned, there is already so much of a dark influence in the media and within the world around us. And the sad fact is that this is just the tip of the iceberg, as unless we have a very high level of esoteric experience, much of the darkness in the world goes on unseen and can influence us without our knowledge of it. I agree that we are fortunate to have the distinction between black and white esotericism laid out in such a clear way by Belsebuub. There is a maze of confusion out there and it is so easy for those seeking esoteric knowledge to get unwittingly taken down the wrong track.

It is sobering to think where we would be without this guidance. Belsebuub and Angela have brought a unique knowledge about the spiritual significance of the sun’s cycles to the public eye over recent years, which we are fortunate to access, particularly as this knowledge had previously become fragmented, lost and distorted over time. It’s clear how easily the knowledge of light can become lost and I reflected that if I were to try and write a similar book based on my own level of esoteric knowledge, the result would be patchy and incomplete at best and at worse misleading or even harmful, as it’s highly unlikely I would have the ability to distinguish the tiny fragments of genuine wisdom of light from the mass of grey esoteric information that is out there.

Thank you for sharing these insight Mark and Angela. I sometimes get very overwhelmed trying to wrap my head around celestial events properly, but pleased to report I got a lot of understanding from reading your explanation 🙂

I’ve always had a fascination with the moon (not unlike many, I think) — I grew up sleeping under the stars in the summer time and it was always hard to tear away from watching the stars and the moon and pondering what that big lamp in the sky is all about. And it can be so beautiful in some circumstances, but then hearing it has negative connotations made me feel like it’s perhaps inappropriate to admire it… And then obviously there’s it’s association with forces of darkness, dark ceremonies, etc., yet at the same time knowing it’s associated with the feminine, bears an influence on feminine cycles, and female deities {which in some circumstances makes people equate women with that darkness}, etc. has been a little confusing at times. I appreciate how you’ve gone through its various positive and negative influences.

      Jenny,
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your comments. You are obviously observing yourself and I have commented on your post as it is vital for the work. Everyone should read your Comments as they are compliment Angela’s key point is “For those interested in working with the light …. it is on time to be on guard against the ego’s.”

Jenny, I hope that I am not putting words into your mouth but the gist of your Comment is being aware of the darkness, and that the darkness needs to be observed in order to work on oneself ,but not to be overtaken by it . You write “I’ve always had a fascination with the moon” … ” and then obviously there’s its association with forces of darkness … it has negative connotations made me feel perhaps its inappropriate to admire it.” Jenny I have had the same feelings and experience towards the darkness, BUT, am also drawn to the light as no doubt you are.

I have recently parted ways with a student who claims he is doing the work. I sent him the original article Mark wrote back in April of this year titled The Occult Influence of the Moon His reaction – “if you think and stay positive and only focus on the positive there is no need to read articles like this.” His belief is that his “Being will automatically fight” the darkness. My reply was that if it were that easy there would be no need for the work as our Being would automatically dissolve the ego’s. I am not judging but look at the contrast between Jenny sharing what she experienced as opposed to someone who intellectualised the process.

Your feelings are honest and nothing you observed and experienced is inappropriate. In fact I have met many students of gnosis who are afraid to feel their emotions and share their experiences. Mark has written an article with its focus being how not to become the darkness whilst observing the darkness. The key factor is be constantly aware especially in the shadow of the Blood Moon.

Thanks for the warning Angela and thanks to Mark for the article. I’ve always sort of glossed over the significance of the moon, aware of a few things about it but not realizing quite a few of the meanings and intricate effects it can have depending on the various stages that the article explained. Good to know now, and will be useful to take note of and watch out for moving forward.

I feel that these days where a great challenge for all of us to confront shared values related with the work but also come up against real facts revealed by Mark, which means that our subconscious is so influenced by forces we can’t imagine, and how many other principles still exist that affect us without understanding or knowing about them. Thank you both again.

    Mark,

I really enjoyed reading and was fascinated by your article on the Blood Moons.

As the hosts were too busy ridiculing people’s beliefs due to their purely scientific analysis of the Blood Moon, they did not state what the prophecy was?

In regards to the ego’s I noticed they are stronger, my fear and anger in particular were at the forefront. I distinctly felt hatred flooding through me

I noticed that on Australia’s ABC morning program it was said that the October 2015 Blood Moon coincided with Jewish apocrypha. This particular Blood Moon apparently has an ancient Hebraic prophecy and warning attached to it.

Does anyone know the Hebrew prophecy they are referring to?

    • Julian K September 29, 2015 at 2:51 pm - Reply

      There’s a a run-down about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_Moon_Prophecy

It looks like it’s more recent, so the reporters probably didn’t know what they were talking about. That said, I’d be interested to know what the events in the past were that coincided with the blood moon tetrad.

    • Vadim September 30, 2015 at 4:11 am - Reply

      Hi Con,

I have not heard about that report, but I think that the prophecy could be the one from the Book of Joel: 2:31 “The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.”

As perhaps you know, Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the Jewish year, known as the Day of Atonement – one day of fasting and intensive prayers for their sins to be forgiven. They believe that on that day, God will close the verdict of their fate for the coming year in the Book of Life.

And in the end of Yom Kippur, if the moon is seen in the sky, Jewish people come out of the synagogue to sanctify it with prayers (“…May it be Your will, Lord my God and God of my fathers, to fill the defect of the moon, so that there be no diminution in it, and may the light of the moon be as the light of the sun, as the light of the Seven Days of Creation, as it was before it was diminished, as it is said (Genesis 1:16): And God made the two great luminaries.”)

Then the numbers play a very important role in the Kabbalah – for example the moon should be sanctified on Yom Kippur only after seven days have passed after the birth of the new moon.

So this year, precisely 4 days after the prayers of Yom Kippur under the moon on Wednesday (Eastern time), there was the 4th blood moon of the Tetrad on Sunday. Statistically speaking, the probability of these events naturally happening together is extremely low.

This coincidence or synchronicity, could make people think about Joel’s prophecy coming true.

      Just making a guess…

    Hi Mark and Angela,

In regards to full moon, there was an explanation in the article about its positive symbolical meaning, as light acting upon darkness, and how it makes darkness visible, so it is also celebrated by the dark side.

And there are many beliefs and even a number of studies about the negative effects of full moon. For example, many people believe that full moon corresponds to a higher crime rate and psychological disorders in general, there are stories about werewolves in different cultures, and there is even a term “lunacy”. There was a theory about the effects of the moon on the fluids of the brain. Some people believe that they can’t sleep well during full moon.

What is the psychological difference between the effects of black moon and full moon? What is the difference between the emanations of the moon itself, and the emanations from the moon combined with reflected light of the sun? Maybe there are also different effects depending on whether a person transmutes their energies or not?

I understand that you wish us to be more focused on self-observation, astral study, doing our best to walk on the Path, etc. rather than to worry about the cycles of the moon, but as you bring the subject of the moon, maybe it could be important to elaborate more on psychological effects of moon cycles in general.

Thanks for explaining about the Moon and the various ways it influences. It’s still something pretty new to me so I don’t feel I have much understanding of it.

Yesterday when the yellow coloured Moon rose above the horizon its bigger size was really noticeable. And focussing more on the Moon than usual made me see that it is a big part of what’s happening on earth (whereas normally it can go by more unnoticed.)

I didn’t feel much when the Moon was in a normal full moon state at the start, but as the time towards the eclipse drew closer there seemed to be a bit of ‘eerie anticipation’ in the air.
When the eclipse was underway I didn’t particularly feel that ‘animal energy’ to be stronger (like a thought of lust going a few steps further than normal or anything) but that might also be because all other circumstances were very easygoing. However I did feel more unpleasant, down or heavier during the time of the eclipse.
As soon as the light could pass by the Earth again and started illuminating the Moon it felt significantly ‘lighter.’ Even if there was still a big part of the moon unlit and slightly red, the reflecting bright light was more apparent. When the Moon was totally lit again I walked around outside and felt things were very ‘normal’ and peaceful again.

I think the clearer we can see our own psychology the more objectively we will be able to pick up on the influence of phenomena like this upon us.

Something I also thought about when being outside was that other celestial objects might also have their own influences. Like the stars for example. Their light always seems to exude something subtle and nice. Or a week or so ago I woke up at five in the morning and saw ‘the morning star’ Venus shining brilliantly in the sky and along with the coming of morning it had a very nice feeling to it.

It’s useful to hear about the power ceremonies of light can have to positively affect the world. Something to keep in mind. Thanks again!

the Feast of Tabernacles – 2015
Sunday Evening, September 27 thru Monday Evening, October 5

The blood moon is not the rapture as some say.

According to ancient Jewish tradition, a lunar eclipse is a harbinger of bad things for Israel. If that eclipse is blood red, that is a sign that war is coming. And blood red moons that happen during Biblical festivals seem to be particularly significant.

According to NASA and “folklore, October’s full moon is called the “Hunter’s Moon” or sometimes the “Blood Moon.” It gets its name from hunters who tracked and killed their prey by autumn moonlight, stockpiling food for the winter ahead. You can picture them: silent figures padding through the forest, the moon overhead, pale as a corpse, its cold light betraying the creatures of the wood.”

The angels are arrayed for battle during this time against the forces of darkness in protecting the true faithful.

Fishy indeed Olga. They’re basically discussing bombing people. And it’s also the day that Nasa decide to tell us about water on Mars … which some say they’ve known about for a long time. As a friend said: “looks like we’re getting closer to a disclosure, but it won’t be for our benefit!”

Olga, I could see why that may seem like strange timing, considering what some people have discussed regarding the UN. I do not personally have knowledge about the UN from that perspective.

However, I do know that the UN has major meetings every September. So, it was not surprising to me that they would have met on that date. I have not been able to watch all of the coverage, but to see all of the issues that our planet and humanity is facing right now, considering their goals and missions, as well as to see the ways in which people are using their lives, expertise, and resources to try to address these issue has been very eye-opening and humbling.

It must be hard for those trying to address what seems like an overwhelming amount of pressing issues to hit obstacle after obstacle. I wonder how they keep up their momentum.

I want to be objective to all these and not fanatic, it’s a an event but I don’t want to do it more difficult to me. Thank you Angela and Belsebuub for this very clear account on the influence of the moon on our world and psyche. It is valuable information for watching out for inner states trying to take me over at this time especially and indeed I had an interesting night in this respect around the time when the blood moon occurred here. I felt it taught me things about myself even though it wasn’t pleasant and I definitely wasn’t pleased with myself.

I was inspired to read about countering the ceremonies of darkness with those of light. It makes sense that the ceremonies of light would enhance the light in the same way that the dark ones are strengthening their forces and influence upon the world. I want to counter that! Especially seeing that I’m aware of this and as you say, the majority of the world is not. I love the image of the lady in ceremonial dress you included in that paragraph. It is so inspiring that we can perform these kind of ceremonies that could be thought were only part of the distant past and use them for a tangible, real, positive purpose, to strengthen the light within ourselves and within the world. To have this in my hands is so valuable, the information on how to make a real difference, thank you again from my heart.

At this moment, light is returning to the moon bit by bit. I went on to my rooftop to watch it for a while and contemplate its meaning and nature. I can’t say I found anything too profound, except a sense of scale, like realizing how large this interplay of celestial bodies is, I imagine the forces in higher dimensions must be at least equal to that magnitude.
I find my energies are mixed up in an uncomfortable way, but I’m not sure if that’s merely a coincidence, or the moon having its effect.

There are many kinds of ceremonies that can facilitate light. It’s good to be aware of the esoteric power of ceremony and ritual and how powerful these can be when aligned with cosmic events and forces.

This part of the article really hit me. I know that the ceremonies I’ve done have been powerful for me, but I didn’t really consider that it could have an outward energetic impact, although it makes sense that it would, if negative ceremonies and rituals are able to have that sort of impact.

    • Lucia September 28, 2015 at 10:43 am - Reply

That’s a nice idea Julian – to go and contemplate the light returning to the moon bit by bit, and what it means. To me, it would mean that after a chaos, we would slowly start seeing the egos more clearly, having a better chance to remove them. Similarly to what Laura wrote above, I could also see some negative aspects of myself in dreams tonight, so hopefully this is a part of the “light returning to the moon”, where we have an opportunity to see and understand what’s going on.

I also like your pondering on the scale of the events in higher dimensions. I also feel sometimes, that if somebody over there falls or rises, or any action is executed, it “resonates through a cosmos” more profoundly than here, on this small level. It is also inspiring to know that on some level, we are also connected to those profound scales through our own, personal Divine Being, as well as through wise actions we can carry here in physical world (like the ceremonies or prayers for example).

Julian I had the same urge to fill in the missing gaps/darkness on moon with light. There was a lot of cloud cover so I was only able to capture glimpses of the phenomenon, mainly the partial eclipse and I was unable to see any part the total eclipse. It was interesting to see that during the total eclipse, the sky was completely covered in thick clouds, even the stars were obstructed from view, making it really appear dark and ominous. To my relief, suddenly a single beam of light from the moon had pierced through the darkness as the strength of the full (white) moon was returning and it was reflected right back down to the earth.

I thought about your statement Justin on whether it would be detrimental for us to actually witness this kind of phenomena. I recall taking that very action in the previous blood moon event and avoided watching it altogether because I didn’t want to support it but I felt that I needed to witness this one for the purposes of learning about it objectively so that I can compare this experience to that of the solstices and equinoxes. I felt that this made me reflect on and appreciate the solstices and equinoxes more then ever before.

It is easy to reject the notion of being under the influence of mechanical celestial and natural forces since the mind is trained to accept only what it understands and pride cannot accept that something is not under its control.

It would be especially difficult to accept these things if they were standing alone, as lost pieces of an unfinished puzzle. However, reading this article after reading others on this site and seeing that it is based on serious research and direct experience it is easier to look deeper into it and see that there is a lot to learn in nature and the way it functions.

The correlation of something that is seen but far in the sky with something that is not physically seen but within our grasp is intriguing to say the least.

Thank you, Angela and Mark for helping us to be aware of the influence of these phenomena. I have found a lot of ego activity recently and the blood moon hasn’t even occurred – I’m not sure if that’s a result of the autumn equinox, there just being plenty of learning opportunities for me right now, or the phases of the moon. At any rate, I’ll be extra vigilant to prevent myself from being influenced by it.

  23. Justin September 27, 2015 at 4:01 pm - Reply

I really appreciate the work Mark is doing to reveal the occult symbolism of the moon. I have previously always been a bit confused about it’s significance in esotericism. Some see it is as a purely positive symbol of the goddess but that has never felt quite right to me. This shows the depth and nuance of the moon and how it relates to light, darkness, forces of opposition, and the spiritual work. It’s especially powerful to consider that even the darkness needs the light to manifest physically.

Angela, do you have any thought on whether it is detrimental at all to watch the lunar eclipse? On the one hand it is a symbol of the light being eclipsed, so would not want to support or partake in that at all, at the same time it is a part of the cosmic drama happening all around us and could be an interesting event to simply observe.

Thank you very much Belsebuub and Angela for bringing the light into these phenomena. I know I would never delve into this on my own, even though I have probably been unconsciously influenced by these phases anyway. The only thing I have ever noticed was increased lucidity around the full moon. There seems to be a certain aura of mystery, magic and almost surreal light and atmosphere present at the times of full moon that inspires astral experiences a lot. But the fairy-tales I used to read extensively as a child have always been full of stories of witches gathering at the full moons, the nymphs luring the young boys into their claws in the forests, etc…, so I’ve always had mixed feelings regarding the full moon as I felt there may be sparks of truth in these folk tales. Your recent articles (from spring) on its symbolism as Divine Mother softened this feeling, but I still didn’t really feel like celebrating the full moon or anything like that. Now this new article makes a more comprehensive view, describing things as they are without the need to “take sides” so to speak. 🙂

Thank you therefore very much again, I feel more inspired now to use these times for special prayers of Light, or aiming at being lucid at night, so I can see and learn more about what is going on.

Thank you for both the warning regards this Blood Moon and the article elaborating on the moon’s cycles and influence.

I had always felt that the moon’s cycles meant something, feeling that something so close, so visible, which affected life on earth so much had its own multi-dimensional influence. I was first drawn to paganism when looking for spiritual guidance, and followed rituals which used the full moon’s power to heal or cleanse or guide. I remember putting things in water for the three days of the full moon for the ‘Mother Goddess’ to bless and cleanse. These were things I buried or stopped paying attention to, as though they were part of a ‘childish’ spirituality.
I also experienced much more lucidity during the full moon, and was almost guaranteed astral experiences at that time. I felt I could sense that people’s moods were different, that the weather changed during the full moon too (more wind, more life?). I had a friend who was a Cancer sign (ruled by the moon) who said when they had inexplicable dark periods they would often check what phase of the moon it was and it would be a dark moon. To me the crescent moon always seems to herald a new phase, like things just got a bit easier, that I emerged from an inner chaos. In acupuncture you can’t use certain points on the body during the full moon as the yang energy (heavenly energy) is at its peak. As a women the mystery of having a body cycle tied to something in space is pretty amazing. All this has made me believe the moon has its influence, but again it has been with the help of your explanation and guidance, Belsebuub, that the meaning becomes clearer.

I feel quite excited at the prospect of incorporating more ceremonies into my life and spiritual practice, and to learn how to use the times of the year and month, maybe even the day, to tap into beneficial energies. If nothing else, it helps to put a structure to your spiritual practice, having reasons to take time out to focus on the inner work and remember the magical.

Thank you again for your priceless guidance.

I have just finished reading the latest article by Belsebuub about the influences and hidden meaning of the moon. For some reason I had always thought that a full moon was a negative thing and I should try to avoid the light from it at much as possible. It’s thanks to these articles here by Belsebuub that I now know that this is not the case and that there light that is simply reflected back from the Sun is a positive thing.
Again, I wanted to give a big Thank you to Belsebuub and Angela for passing on such valuable information. We would be really lost without his wisdom and guidance.
I will definitely pay attention to this time coming up and see what I can learn from being more aware of this phenomena.

    Thank you!

Angela, thank you for sharing this with us and letting us know about the potential for danger around this time. Like many others I have felt strange influences and flare ups when you least expect them and for no apparent reason. I really appreciate the way in which you put us on alert so we can become more in tune with what is going on in Nature and the forces acting upon us.

Thank you so much Angela and Belsebuub for bringing up this information. You seem to explain simple things, yet I have never seen them explained in such a way in astrological books. It all really makes sense, and I can relate to some of it with my experience. Yes, the rituals of light can definitely counter these negative influences, especially when aligned with cosmic principles, and supported by the inner work in daily life.
