Belsebuub and radio host Dave Callan take a look at the state of the world. They look for answers to questions such as: Where do we take responsibility for what’s happening? What can be done about it on a personal level? What are the causes of the state of the world within us? And what can we do to bring positive change?
From ‘The Graveyard Shift’ show on Triple J Radio Australia.
Very good and sobering interview as it zooms in on the larger issues we as a humanity face. All the problems related to pollution, weapons, and famine are massive and there is no real sign for improvement anytime soon. It’s hard to consider that the same chaos in the world is within us. Especially when you are well off in life and on the surface things are relatively quiet. Its different for people who are fleeing their countries because of war or starvation, then the ‘ugly’ stuff comes out which normally is buried deep inside of us. The techniques that Belsebuub gives are excellent to see our inner chaos, come out of it and make a positive change, both in actions and in our world of thought and feeling. Thanks for the reminder.
I loved this talk. I know I would enjoy listening to it a few more times. Something about discussing the state of our world I find sort of refreshing. Obviously not in a way that it’s nice or enjoyable to hear, but in a way that it feels just appropriate that somebody is willing to speak about it in such a direct and truthful manner, willing to speak of things exactly as they are in a very uncompromising style.
There is a beautiful quote i reflect on regularly by the sufi poet rumi “yesterday i was clever so i wanted to change the world, today i am wise so i am changing myself ! “
I feel so grateful to have access to belsebuubs teachings. Ever since i have put the knowledge into practise, i have seen a small change within myself, this is very inspiring to work harder to be present in daily life!
As belsebuub has mentioned it is something personal and can only be observed and experienced by the individual, I hope to one day truly be the change i would like in the world.
Thanks so much Lara for posting.
It is really sad that there is so much mess around the world and the society with big financial problems, wars, and the brutality that accompanies all these cases.
So, you feel totally helpless and the necessity to do something essential which is to walk towards to the process of internal change beyond the illusions and lies of this material world.
Thank you, Lara, for sharing this video.
What a fantastic talk. Belsebuub provides great insights into why the world is in the state it is in and some simple steps with which people can get started to observe and change themselves.
What a different world we would live in if people began to change. Instead of all the greed, self-interest and hatred, etc, we could learn to help those in need and to have respect for people’s differences – rather than fear and hatred. I find myself thinking of John Lennon’s words from Imagine …
And, it’s great to have an interviewer with insight into this work, who can ask the right questions and respectfully wait for them to be answered, so everyone can benefit from the talk too.
Thanks for this really inspiring and powerful talk.
Unfortunately we are quite helpless to a lot of terrible situations on our planet but we have this amazing esoteric opportunity to make a real difference. Speaking for myself, I hope to learn to be more peaceful and loving in my everyday actions.
Great talk, thanks Belsebuub.
That’s true John
This interview is fantastic; yes nuclear bombs are a disaster. There’s a wealth of information in this article for people to take with them and contemplate in their daily lives and hopefully apply the wisdom that follows. Thanks for posting, I feel for myself this one would be worth listening to a few times.
I really like Dave’s questions and Belsebuub’s answers – just giving a good try to awareness and being detached from the subconscious is such a great key and the best start of a fundamental change.
I had a chance to travel a bit around the world and meet both rich and poor, well educated and street taught, spiritually interested and pleasures seekers, etc. and unfortunately it seems like the world is in such a deep “sleep” and just a very tiny faction of it wants to take up the Gnostic work, and out of those, I am not sure how many of us can fulfil even the basic requirements of being spiritual. Speaking for myself, I can see some improvement over the years, but it seems to be so slow, sometimes I wonder how much of the “real work” I can do in this lifetime. But then when I look deeply inside myself, I just have this faith somehow that “all happens the way it is meant to be” and I just need to do my best to keep doing things in life, which will be resonated internally with that faith, love, peace, and this will be the best way to help the world and live a meaningful life.
Thank you very much for posting this talk, I listened to it years ago, it was great to hear it again!
I was thinking what if you ask the question of “how do we change the world for the better?” To an ecologist, politician, scientist etc. It’s likely each would answer with their own particular solutions, but I would think; would that really change things?
I like how Mark mentions the need to go to the cause of the problem, which lies within the individual, and the need to change ourselves within. Such an answer might seem simple or not be able to impact much or whatever, but I think that when someone makes it a reality it’s in fact incredibly powerful! For oneself and for what one can increasingly do for others. Being active to live such a life is not so easy, but it’s the life that’s rewarding in a real way imo.
I also liked that little awareness exercise halfway through.
Amazing interview!
Great practical questions from the interviewer. It’s so important to get the basics right and Belsebuub gives detailed explanations.
Thanks a lot for posting.
Thanks very much for sharing this talk. It is a very insightful commentary on the current state of humanity, but importantly it also highlights the importance of personal responsibility. If we can change ourselves, then we can act in a much more intelligent way, in order to bring about change within the world.
