“When you teach esoteric things, your train of thought goes on to the esoteric work, whereas if you’re at home and you’ve got no classes to go to, you’re on your own, you tend to just get lost and think about the things that you need to do for that particular day. So teaching then helps to direct the attention to the esoteric work, because it helps the mind to be directed toward it. And it’s the mind then that helps to remember to do it”
Hello Mark,
I can definitely relate to it :) Teaching others helps so much to stay focused on spiritual work.
It sounds like you encourage your audience here not just to “sit at home”, but to go out and to teach people esoteric things. And yet there was a clear guidance, passed recently by Lara, that “now is not the time for teaching in public”.
I understand that this transcription is based on your talk from 2005, (10 years ago) but if now is not the time to teach, why did you not edit that paragraph?
Could there be a way these days for someone to teach directly a public, without creating the problems which will outweigh the benefits of teaching?
“Consider what you can do to assist your inner work. Try to do it as you think best, but it’s actually only going to be done by you storming it; it is not going to be done simply with the passing of time.”
Personally I really like to help people in whatever way possible. I am not afraid of opposition and just want to find the best way of helping others in this time and emerge myself completely in spiritual activities, in accordance with the Divine Will.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure if you saw the latest MLP blog post or not yet Vadim (http://www.mysticallifepublications.org/the-spiritual-sun-website-and-project/) but it mentions there are some plans on the horizon to expand the Spiritual Sun site to enable people to setup of in-person Meetup groups based around it. So I suppose you could say that the groundwork is being laid to make such things possible as everything is built up anew from fresh foundations.
That would be pretty exciting! I can’t wait to hear further news on meetup groups for TSS!
Hi Vadim, not that I can speak for Mark but I guess it was left in there because that is what was said at the time and it is still actually true. It is just it seems the recent times have been/still are a time for defending the teachings more than promoting them. I also think the old ways of running the groups has had its time and we need to let them go so hopefully new better ways can emerge like with The Spiritual Sun project.
I agree that it’s still true David. I never actually taught myself, but I feel I had the same sense of activity and momentum when I was working within previous groups in a supporting role. I didn’t feel that I missed out particularly, as I still reaped the benefits of the group strength. It also enabled the teachers to be clearer and more focused on giving the teachings, rather than being burdened with other aspects of organisation so much.
I think this avenue is still very much open now, it’s just that with current circumstances, more of us need to play a supporting role, than to teach directly. That allows Mark to give the teachings to others in the best way for this time.
I also found it quite rewarding to be working more behind the scenes, as I felt it helped me to do it out of love and not for other reasons. Also, although we may not receive immediate recognition from others for our efforts, all that we do will be taken into account by the divine. I think that’s what matters the most.
That’s a really good point, Michael.
I was preparing for a ceremony once with a group of people, and was coordinating some parts of the preparations, and people were running around busily doing things. I asked if anyone needed anything to do, because there was a rather tedious difficult task that I thought needed to be done, but no one volunteered. I then noticed that somehow, it hadn’t even occurred to me that I could do it, as if it were somehow beneath me. I saw this huge amount of pride in my attitude, and I’ve seen it since then in different forms, how I can want to do things that are more glorious, or that earn respect from people I respect, or that are more impressive, or that in general make it more obvious that I’m doing the work, as if it were some kind of fashion display.
Hi Vadim
I think your question is an interesting one because I’m sure there are other people that may feel the same way, especially having been teachers of The Gnostic Movement and experiencing the value of what Mark says in that first quote. However, as you said that excerpt is from 2005, at the time TGM was operating and people were teaching within the vehicle, (as Matthew has talked about in the post A Retreat in Quebec, Canada, 2004). That vehicle no longer exists and there is nothing in place at this time to provide the means for people to teach these esoteric teachings nor to even practice them, which is very difficult for people as we all need that in order to grasp the reality of these teachings so that we can apply it in every day life, where it’s really found.
As in the previous post there were many people, who like you, really enjoyed teaching and also sharing this information, however we need to look for understanding at this time, and look to see where things are at. Mark has been working so hard to write the books, but it hasn’t been easy at all, with all that has happened over the last 5 years and especially the first three of those – we are all still feeling and living the repercussions of the attacks upon him. What we are experiencing in our feeling this inability of being able to teach, very much pales away when considering what Mark has experienced and the incredible difficulties he has to face to write and bring forward this information in the books he’s writing. It is he and Lara who are picking up the pieces and trying to put them together, but anew for our current times and that is a huge challenge. I really feel we need to consider and take some time to reflect on what has really happened, what is current, and then we will be able to see more clearly Lara’s comment about now not being the time to teach publicly.
You said, “Could there be a way these days for someone to teach directly a public, without creating the problems which will outweigh the benefits of teaching?”
Teaching the old ways, when they are now part of the past, is in my opinion stagnant way of approaching things. Time has brought many events and also moved things on and we need to be able to see this and see what is at hand now, which was well noted in the post The Spiritual Sun Website.
To venture into teaching in these times, when the foundations are not there to do so, I feel is displacing our time, effort and energy when there are really exciting projects underway that are integral for the future of spirituality in these current times. Supporting these projects is where things are at and through that I hope will find the strength, purpose and direction that will support their own inner learning, which I have found to be true for me. We tend to want to go back to the old things without seeing how much has changed, and as hard as that pull is in us, I feel its really worth working hard to bring ourselves to reality and what’s in our hands at this moment, and then the bigger picture will unfold itself as we work towards it in the way we each can. The magic of these incredible teachings are still alive, but we need to place ourselves in it to experience it; it won’t come to us on our terms, in our way, or how we want it to be.
“Personally I really like to help people in whatever way possible. I am not afraid of opposition and just want to find the best way of helping others in this time and emerge myself completely in spiritual activities, in accordance with the Divine Will.”
I think that’s so important and that’s great that you want to help others, but you know, I don’t think you have to find the best way, the opportunities have already presented themselves, and I hope many people will ‘seize the day’. I like that quote from Belsebuub you highlighted, it resonated with me when writing to you here;
“Consider what you can do to assist your inner work. Try to do it as you think best, but it’s actually only going to be done by you storming it; it is not going to be done simply with the passing of time.”
Like everyone here, I’ve seen time bring and take away many opportunities and events in my life, and so through missing many I’ve come to learn that its really valuable to see what there is at any given time and to make use of it wholeheartedly and apply as much clarity to it, perhaps this is another aspect of ‘living in the moment’.
Best wishes to you and everyone here.
I agree very much Laura. We need to be receptive to the new and to not cling onto ways of the past, even though they may have previously served a vital role. Doing this allows us to be guided by those with the authority to teach and to be receptive to what they are teaching.
I think this quote by Rudolf Flesch sums it up nicely: “Creative thinking may mean simply the realization that there’s no particular virtue in doing things the way they always have been done”.
One thing I would disagree on though is that you mentioned we don’t have the means to practice these teachings now. I may well have misinterpreted what you meant, but I feel that the opportunities to practice these teachings in our daily lives are still very much alive.
Oops, sorry Layla! I misread your name :)
I think I also definitely did misinterpret the part about not being able to practice these teachings, as reading your comments again I realised you also said: “we all need that in order to grasp the reality of these teachings so that we can apply it in every day life, where it’s really found”.
Yes, I agree very much with that.
No worries Michael :)
Hi Layla,
Your comment is very well written and makes total sense to me. Thanks for sharing.
With my very limited understanding I have understood we cannot walk this journey without the guidance of the living Teacher and all other attempts made on our own are full of traps.
Some will not see eye to eye and have chosen to move on but their are those who will continue to attack us for that choice. A unified understanding gives strength against the many challenges ahead.
Thanks Layla for your explanation, along with the many others here who are and have been actively working towards these projects that are helping to bring Mark’s revolutionary vision to light. I agree that the efforts should now be geared towards actively participating and supporting these new, ground breaking visions. It will be amazing to see the results that come out of it. I’m very excited and feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to be part of it.
Hi Patricia
I know what you mean and I feel the same too!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and explanations, Matthew, David and Layla.
Yes, I am really looking forward towards all these interesting new projects in our community.
Kind regards,
Vadim
Thank you Vadim, it’s been worthwhile to explore the points you raised.
Wish you and everyone here all the best in these very dynamic times!
Thanks for that, Layla….very helpful and worthwhile to reflect on.
Layla, your whole post is so insightful, thanks for sharing that. I agree that certain opportunities have come and gone, and new ones where more active teaching is possible don’t seem to be quite here yet. I also find your comment about this being another aspect of ‘living in the moment’ very interesting, as the work is so dynamic and changing so often that it is actually quite a task just to stay current with what’s happening. I feel like teaching publicly right now would be trying to launch a spaceship before it’s been finished, the results could be catastrophic not just for Belsebuub, but for anyone else working to launch it. I think it’s important to see that everyone has the same goal of getting the teachings moving again, and that the way that you (with MLP), Belsebuub, and these other projects are going about it are the best way to get the teachings moving, because they’re the vehicles for it.
This is a more recent article on the same subject: https://belsebuub.com/articles/the-use-of-the-word-cult-to-stop-people-forming-groups-for-higher-spiritual-knowledge
Towards the end, where Belsebuub says “You have a right to gather with others to stand together and face ignorance, to fight for truth and to know the secrets of spiritual and esoteric knowledge. If you care, you should empower yourself with truth and become active for the good of society.”
To me this speaks not just about forming groups, but of the innate connection that now exists between gathering in groups and standing for truth. He also speaks about the dangers of forming spiritual groups, it’s a good article. It seems like a proper defense needs to be ready.
Hi Julian, thanks for sharing your perspectives and for highlighting that article by Belsebuub and especially that section, there is so much to take in, in those words alone.
That’s very helpful Layla. Thanks.
Thanks for the video and now this transcript of that talk which I found very helpful and inspiring, there were many good points made for me to reflect on.
I got the impression that once the Christ resurrects, its like the egos automatically die when they arise in the presence of that force?
I found this transcription very useful too.
“What actually is remembrance? You’ve really got to search and find the answers to these questions in yourself.”
I tried to do so and the outcome helped me a lot.
Looking at past talks and articles seems you have talked so many times about remembrance (as well as other topics too) and you’ve made it clear from every aspect what we need to do and how. And it’s up to us to do it or not.
So, I’m thankful for all the material you provide and the updates of it too.
But been inside a materialistic engagement in my life, is difficult to use all this material properly without this to become part of consumption and inner satisfaction.
But I really appreciate your great altruistic effort and I wish I’m able to honour it.
I find the transcript very helpful too, thanks for making it available. As many have already said, it is much easier to reflect on the meaning when you are reading the transcript compared to listening to the talk. When I was reading though it some parts stood out more than others and re-reading those and ponder the meaning somewhat helped me to go deeper.
The part where you speak about the essence pushing to experiment really helps at this point in time.
But, humanity doesn’t know what it’s like to be free of it. It’s just that within some people, the essence is strong enough that it pushes them to search, experiment, experience, and practice so that they can come out of that state.
It is somewhat comforting to realise we have to experiment and search in life, if we don’t life will take its own course and in the end we will never know what it is like to be really free.
As for video, I do wish similar talks can be held live for anyone to attend in the future.
I got a lot out of this. Thank you Mark.
The way this article describes the Work gives me hope because it sounds very possible to be accomplished.
One of the things that stood out for me is this answer:
“Why does the process of transformation involve pain?
It involves pain, because with it, egos and actions are tested.”
Very interesting. Especially when read in combination with this:
“Be ready to go through the pain of the inner death. Those who try to awaken face a massive wall of life and it takes huge efforts to break through it. The pull of life is very strong, and the chains of nature have to be broken. Consider what it will take to put yourself through this, and then do it.”
It is in our nature to avoid pain in all its forms but it seems that we need to use its presense as a ladder to climb. I understand it of course from the aspect of being hurt from the situations that life brings spontaneously and not by any kind of self-harm.
This tendency to avoid pain from what I have noticed sometimes includes an instictive reaction of causing pain to the source which seems to be the reason behind many arguments and negativity. Like when a sharp negative comment comes towards me I feel the need to counter it with an equal or stronger reaction in order for it to stop. And that’s because that comment hurts my pride and anger kicks in to defend it.
This tendency alone seems like a huge challenge that one needs to address and sacrifice in order to walk towards the light.

Like when a sharp negative comment comes towards me I feel the need to counter it with an equal or stronger reaction in order for it to stop. I also find this really true, Christos. How often pride and anger are at the root of arguments, just playing off one another. You said, ‘in order for it to stop’ which, of course, doesn’t and the egos just come up stronger instead. But this does make me wonder what exactly stops it then? How to not react when someone’s negativity is so strongly directed towards you? What is the force that pacifies this anger and the array of egos that come with it? How to feed this instead, or perhaps at least allow it to emanate freely by clearing the way, sacrificing those instinctive defense mechanisms we have… reminds me of “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” because this way there is opportunity for learning for the other person as well, whereas when this light/force is blocked, both lose.
Thanks for bringing this up– has me looking deeper into applying the death more strictly and to watch out for those traps of righteousness.
Yeah thanks for the posting. Start something requires discipline. For me I noticed in the daily life that without discipline you can not reach anything. Give up of the materialism is not easy. For me this article help me get a new hope. Every day is a new day.
Watching the video of this talk when it came out last week was really inspiring and helpful for me. Reading over the transcript just now, I took in a lot more. So many valuable and insightful things are said in each sentence :) When just listening/watching it, it all doesn’t register, or you don’t have the time for it all to register.
Thanks very much for posting this transcript. Like I said it was all really inspiring and helpful, but this bit at the beginning actually stood out the most for me today and inspires me to investigate –
“Although the mind remembers in the first place, it’s the essence or consciousness that sees. But you can’t leave it at that, you’ve got to go further and explore it so that you feel what it is to be self-aware. Find out what causes it precisely. What actually is remembrance? You’ve really got to search and find the answers to these questions in yourself.”
This is such an amazing article. I am really amazed at the direct guidance that’s given and so thankful for it.
I agree. I find the answer to the last question especially straightforward and practical in how to get down to doing it.
It’s is good to hear that there will be this force that comes to help us. And that it will not always be like this, pathetically struggling.
I have also noticed, according to my own degree, the difference in inner level, when things are going well within and circumstances are good, compared to when the weight of ordinary life and the weight of the subconscious weigh down upon the psyche. Hopefully alchemy can provide a healing, purification and the right energies to be able to transform that inner weight of darkness to light.
I was kind of eager to hear the continuation of what was said here at 9:44 in the video. But thanks for providing this transcription and the added information, wrapping it all together.
Thank you so much Belsebuub for adding the transcript of this talk to the website, I really gleaned a lot more from reading your talk: it’s answered so many questions I’ve been pondering at this time.
Again, thank you.
In this article there are very intersting information as: “The mind is needed to do this work—without it, it’s lost. That’s why when people go to the Abyss, they hand over what was human; they hand over basically the human mind. And then they’ve just got instincts and a very basic mind that doesn’t work like a human one.”
According this, we should evaluate what we have in order to work more intensely internally and not loose what precious we have.
Thank you Mark
Everything that is about transcription of Mark videos and audio talks is very helpful for me.
Thank you
This is helpful, thank you. Nice job
Thank you for this. It makes me wonder about the light, what it is, and the fact that we live without it, without knowing what we don’t have. But that the essence knows. I do feel a longing, but it’s for something I don’t understand.
It also makes me think about people who go through NDEs, and experience so much light and love, and then return back here to again be separated from that love. Some people become very depressed after that.
Thanks Mark. The bit at the end is very practical, I’m going to print that out and study it, it seems like a strong and brief overview of what’s necessary to do the work.
I’m curious about the meaning of this line:
“The Son Christ comes to save the true man and comes to dominate, and this is wonderful for humanity.”
Humanity is very large, does this really refer to all of humanity? How is it that an event that affects the life of a single person affects all of humanity?
Wow, thanks so much for that. Reading through that transcription just now has answered a lot of questions I’ve recently been reflecting on as to how to make a spiritual work a reality. Seems to be a recurring reflecting for me :)
Particularly these few lines:
“So, there is a hope—the work is not a continuous, endless struggle that seems to go nowhere. The beast is transformed fundamentally by this work. If it wasn’t like this, there would be no chance at all, absolutely no chance. It’s a miracle that everyone has the chance to get—if only the efforts were made for it. It’s not going to be a continuous stupefied emptiness, if you take the right steps.”
That’s really inspiring to hear how the work is eventually not a “continuous, endless struggle that seems to go nowhere.” It really hit the nail on the head for how I feel most days and generally feel a bit trapped as to how to overcome that on my own. It’s also really inspiring to me that there is this light waiting for us, to just reach it, so that we can not be alone. We just have to manage to make it there. Still a difficult achievement but somehow very comforting, making it a bit easier to push to strive for that light.
“Consider what you can do to assist your inner work. Try to do it as you think best, but it’s actually only going to be done by you storming it; it is not going to be done simply with the passing of time.”
This line was already incredibly helpful for me. I’ve been watching the days go by, and feeling this general unease as I lay down to sleep. Another day passed. Definitely good to reflect on whether I’m using my days to ‘storm’ through or not.
Thank you very much for this article.
Vida, I found the same lines helpful.
Thank you Belsebuub for making the transcription available.
I remember hearing in one of Belsebuub’s talks something along the lines that our daily practices should be at the same intensity as retreats… this is something I am yet to do on a regular basis.
I really got the same sentiment as you Vida from the video and transcript – it’s so inspiring to hear that it’s not always like this struggle, that you’re not constantly just battling with awareness and the egos the same way, but that the Christ fundamentally changes who and what you are and is a constant presence.
Very inspired to keep on pushing through and using the difficult times to gain inner rewards.
The Kingdom of Heaven must be taken by storm :)
Hello Belsebuub,
A quote from the article:
“The Son Christ works to destroy the egos. And the egos come up like a creature that bites somebody, normally they bite and they hurt and they leave an impression. But when the Son resurrects, then the ego bites and it dies”
This is reminiscent of what I’ve heard from Christian media about how ‘the blood of the Christ will wash away the sins of the world’
The transcription is very helpful; thank you.
