It’s not enough to like the idea of inner change, or to believe something about consciousness, to have the real thing you’ll have to work for it, and be part of the struggle of light against darkness.
Added to the Esoteric Wisdom section in Articles, its from a talk at the Oregon retreat in 2009.
This article is really straightforward – I really appreciate it and am much thankful for it.
I remember when I heard Belsebuub give this talk at a retreat, and it was so helpful to put things into perspective. We can get lost in thinking that living in nature, and with the ways of nature is something spiritual. Yet whoever has actually done so, or lived on a farm for example, knows that life can even be harsher. That the laws of nature are seen even more obviously than life in the big city. Living in nature has its plus though, you are not surrounded by mechanical noises, pollutions etc.. But like Belsebuub explains that is not to be spiritual. It’s just a change of environment, and if we don’t change within, then we’ve only changed the canvas where we paint our lives, and that canvas won’t be spiritual..
A very truthful talk – one I hope that will be helpful to many to realize the reality of the spiritual work, that it is an internal change, not external that is required to be done.
