I’ve been writing my dreams down for many years and when I read back I can see clearly what has been happening in my mind in relation to what was happening in the physical world. In this way I have learned so much and have changed my behaviour as a consequence…
It was very interesting to listen to people sharing their dreams and experiences, it influenced me and made me wonder about things. Dreams have helped and played a determinant role many times in my life especially when and since I entered these teachings, all kind of dreams. I feel very grateful for this help.
Bad dreams have also warned me about the death of a relative or friend. A very alive and horror dream had warned me about my father’s death, I didn’t understand it then and prayed to overcome it. Some time afterwards I got informed about his illness and that he didn’t have much time left and then I remembered and understood my dream, it spoke very clear.
Thank you very much Mark for bringing up and sharing this interview.
The thing that struck me most when listening to this audio is the fact that nearly everyone is curious about their dreams — this is a “universal” human experience that we all share. I was touched by the various people calling in (as well as the interviewer), all genuinely hoping for some insight and guidance into the meaning of their dreams. It’s just a reminder that people are longing to understand dreams and their symbolism, yet so many people don’t know where to turn for answers. The practical information offered through this website, which guides us to look within and discover the dream dimensions for ourselves, is truly a gift! May more people be led to discover it.
Yes that struck me too Shannon! How there is this “hunger” among people to know more and understand their dreams. The interview almost felt like a therapy session, with people calling in with very personal issues, asking for help or shedding some light… I think Belsebuub went into as much detail as possible in a public platform. I learned some new things too, like for example about the symbolic color of the hair, very interesting.
How unfortunate that these things are not taken seriously in the mainstream society, despite the fact that everyone intuitively feels there is so much behind it! So much guidance and help is lost that way.
I was reflecting on the same thing Shannon – it really is amazing how such a shared experience exists within dreams.
@Lucia – I was thinking the same thing, about how it is unfortunate dreams aren’t valued as a resource for ourselves and our lives. There seems to be such a curiosity and interest on one hand, but a disconnection from it in our daily life in many ways. It’s interesting looking back into ancient texts and seeing how seriously they took their dreams, and how they used them to direct their decisions and lives in many ways, but today that would seem silly probably to most people.
Thank you for this interview. It makes me reflect on many things, especially dreams I had as a child, recurring dreams. I feel I can sense what they were telling me now, sort of warning me about the future, about things that would happen. I remember I wanted to write them down in a diary even then, but never actually did. I wish I had. Would be great to look back at dreams I had when I was 10 or 11 :D
Me too! I am also inspired to look into dreams now, and also into the inner states throughout the day that create these dreams. It was good that the talk is longer than others – it makes it easier to understand the main points and have them sink in.
Before a go to sleep I’m always looking forward to my dreams, hopefully others will benefit from this information.
Great radio talk, thanks Belsebuub.
These personal, down to earth and friendly talks on radio are so nice. Reminds me when at the GM courses we had discussions with newcomers. They are so fresh and peoples’ innocent and spontaneous responds on those matters, give me more insights about the state of the human psyche and that things are more simple than complex are becoming often in my mind.
Insights about how things were when the GM was on are coming back too. About this opportunity the public had to have a more direct contact with these Teachings. Also about how these talks served their purpose back then and probably serve another one now that they are on.
Also some more gems from Mark that I haven’t read or heard before and an overall boost for my approach to the inner work.
Very much appreciated !
Thanks for the audio. Watching horror movie before bed can result in unpleasant dreams. And then during the day, you will think or talk about it and more unpleasant dreams will occur. I remember I used to dream being chased by a big monster and it would just swallow whoever it caught. It’s so nice not to dream of it anymore plus dreams are more pleasant when not watching tv before bedtime. It’s better to listen to peaceful music or just relax and read something that make you feel good.
Sometimes can take a long time to understand the symbolic meaning of dreams. I finally understood a dream from 5 years ago. As I was going to event in life, that dream image showed up in the mind and I knew. It’s nice to know what it means even though a big long ago. Writing down definitely helps.
I was so sensitive to horror movies and violent scenes as a child, and still am. But it became something you did with your friends, watch scary things. I remember not being able to sleep well for a week after watching a certain horror movie.
Also found that not watching TV makes my dreams clearer. When I watch TV, sometimes my dreams turn into a long winded story as well.
Hi Lili,
I have the same experience with tv, and computer (to a degree). Yesterday as I was listening to this talk I had the computer next to my bed and was listening with my eyes closed. At times it felt a bit like a negative entity next to me. I also had similar experiences in my dreams, where a tv working in the background felt very unpleasant.
I have not had the same experience when my full attention is directed to the computer, so I don’t think that this is the case for tv and computer in all cases.
Thanks for sharing that interview, quite a different one to others that have gone before.
It made me notice how much a radio host sets the environment of a show and I guess you’re sort of limited in discussing things, according to the level of understanding of the person you’re talking to. The radio host definitely had a range of interesting dreams full of symbolic meaning and had contemplated them a lot as well it seems. But I can see how when something so deep and personal is revealed to us, albeit in a symbolic way, that it feels best to keep it to oneself. It’s also challenging then to be invited to explain their meaning.
The interview makes you think how everyone gets taught so much. But what percentage of that is being consciously listened to and used. Makes interpreting and acting upon that guidance seem very special and important.
I really appreciated listening to this interview, just like always :) Thank you so much dear Mark for sharing with us your knowledge. I know that it is not easy to comment on people’s dreams, especially when they are not involved in the teachings. You gave so many good answers and it was nice to hear you laughing a bit here and there :)
Let me also take this chance and express my deep gratitude to you for teaching us how to understand better the language of dreams and to see more how it relates to our inner states in our daily lives, and how to transform our low states (the elements behind them – the egos) into something truly spiritual.
Deeply grateful to you, Belsebuub and to all other teachers, who helped me to almost completely get the nightmares out of my life, and to have so much less of negative dreams, in a sense of bad feelings, or in a sense of negative from the spiritual perspective (for example less lustful dreams, which feel nice and sweet, but later bring spiritual harm).
George Gurdjieff’s technique of self-observation, combined with mindfulness and concentration, were certainly great basics to learn and to keep polishing, yet certainly not enough – but learning from your teachings how to also get rid of my subconscious states (the egos), and doing it over many years made the most difference. Looking forward to use all tools and to CLEAR it COMPLETELY!
From another hand, well I keep having negative dreams, which seem to be clearly deliberate attacks on me to bring me down spiritually in any possible way. I am ok with being attacked, there is so much to learn out of it, as they know my weaknesses so well and are the enemies strong enough to be sincerely respected…Sometimes though :) I wish I could just sit in a wonderful well protected garden, surrounded by beauty and enjoy peace and love, but would it not become quite boring after some time? :) Occasionally we need rest, but would we not degenerate eventually in that garden, or of it relates to the higher dimensions – stay at the same level? How much karma there still to pay or destroy? And looking at the state of this world and seeing all this suffering of living beings here and now, and looking within and seeing so many inner states to correct (different aspects of pride, lust, greed, fear, envy, laziness, anger, hatred, etc., etc., etc,) not struggling with darkness, seems to be clearly not an option.
It is wonderful to have so much guidance from you dear Belsebuub, please keep helping us all to move into the right direction…
